Pricing Manager
Responsible for evaluating opportunities and developing pricing proposals to a worldwide base of Carrier for a next-generation product initiative which was managed as a startup company within Verizon. Product lines offered included the ThingSpace IoT (Internet of Things) Platform and Connected Home solution, the Orion Big Data Platform, and the Enhanced Television (IPTV) Platform:
Defined, implemented and managed the Deal Desk process for customer offer evaluation and approval. Despite significant organizational resistance and challenges, consistently ensured that each organization adhered to its defined roles, that all approvals were obtained in a timely manner, and that any blocking issues were quickly resolved.
Created, documented, and obtained approvals for ~30 customer proposals and RFI/RFP responses, spanning 15 distinct carriers and several major product lines.
Coordinated and validated pricing inputs from the Product teams, and baselined Standard and Minimum prices for all sub-features of the above products. Continued to expand, refine, and evolve price list contents and values over time.
Synchronoss Technologies, Bridgewater, NJ 03/12 – 04/16
Pricing and Contracts Manager
Responsible for business case development, costing/pricing, and contract review for the full suite of Synchronoss product offerings across the Activation, Cloud, Broadband, and other major product lines, for all North American business units and segments:
Created and refined pricing/costing models for ~800 product and feature offers (Deals) per year, with a cumulative annual revenue value in the $1.2-1.5B range. Deal modeling involved collection and validation of cost data from all impacted organizations, risk and market assessment, and negotiations with the Sales teams. For larger or riskier Deals, facilitated executive review and approval.
Lead the initiative to design and refine the Deal Desk Opportunity, Deal and Contract review and approval processes in SalesForce, and in testing and validating their implementation and rollout.
Managed the Deal approval process on a continual basis by ensuring that all other required stakeholders completed their reviews and signoffs.
Executed the central role in the contract approval process, including review of all SOWs, amendments, and change orders for business terms and pricing. Assigned and coordinated contract reviews and approval by multiple other organizations, including Legal, Finance, Sales, Product, and R&D.
Validated accuracy of all corporate financial and pipeline data in SalesForce by verifying both minimum and forecast total value of each approved Deal and associated Opportunity, working with Product Managers and Sales owners to analyze and correct any revenue and forecast discrepancies.
AT&T, Bedminster, NJ (Consultant) 07/10 – 02/12
Product/Program Manager
Managed the ATT Internet Protect (AIP) product line supporting internet/intranet security capabilities, and in particular, defense against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks:
Planned and coordinated the migration of ~100 customers from the current to a next-generation platform. This included transitioning many of those customers to new contract terms and options, which involved significant negotiation and coordination with the Sales teams and customers, as well as with the Product Management, Provisioning, Marketing, Pricing and Security teams.
Validated the status of all new product orders from initial contract through final bill trigger. Enabled the Provisioning and Sales teams to quickly and efficiently overcome numerous roadblocks and issues.
Reviewed and provided weekly updates and corrections to the Order Tracking charts and metrics tracking systems to ensure accuracy of status and metrics data.
Developed new pricing approaches to grow market share, including special promotional pricing for the migrating customers.
Telcordia/Bellcore, Piscataway, NJ 01/97 – 10/09
Product/Program Manager
Accountable for a multi-million dollar annual revenue stream as Product and Program Manager for a software product line supporting provisioning of Local Number Portability and Intelligent Network services:
Led and closed product sales with multiple Tier One and Tier Two Local Exchange Carriers in the US and Canada, with annual revenue totaling approximately $12M.
Negotiated multi-year contract extensions for annual upgrade releases and maintenance with each of the above customers multiple times. Despite significant pressure by customer procurement managers for lowered pricing as well as changes in contract terms, was repeatedly able to reach final agreements that included minimal discounting and continued highly favorable terms for Telcordia.
Planned and approved the annual product work programs. Coordinated inputs from the customers and the Product teams, developed high-level requirements for proposed feature sets, and prioritized contents for each annual upgrade release. Succeeded repeatedly in finalizing annual release packages that achieved customer business needs without exceeding product staff budgets or schedule constraints.
Acted as primary point of contact and management interface between Telcordia and the customers, serving as the champion for customer business needs and the escalation point for problems and requests. Aggressively worked issues to resolution, ensuring that customers would always view the Telcordia team as a trusted ally. Built solid, enduring relationships with the customer base, resulting in product loyalty and repeat business.
Coordinated and led annual customer site visits as well as product Users Group Meetings. Such meetings invariably resulted in increased customer satisfaction, as measured by surveys and by individual feedback, and also uncovered additional opportunities for new feature and service sales.
