Huntingdon Consulting Engineers and Scientists (1989 1993) Les is a Senior Project Manager with over 27 years of experience in civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering. A graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics, he started with Huntingdon Consulting Engineers and Scientists (formerly Twin City Testing) in deep foundation design and analysis. He continued education from the University of Missouri, Rolla, with courses in Deep Foundation Design, Dynamic Pile Analysis, Pressure Meter Analysis, and Static Load Testing for Piles. Les worked on over 50 deep foundation designs and analyses across the United States. Earth Burners Incorporated (1994 1998)
After Huntingdon, Les joined an environmental construction firm and managed government funded construction and environmental remediation projects. Major government contracts included design and construction for: a fuel depot at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana; storm water containment infrastructure at Belle Chase Naval Air Station in New Orleans, Louisiana; chemical remediation facility for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in Beloit, Wisconsin; jet fuel remediation facility for the Minnesota Air National Guard in Duluth, Minnesota; UST removals and soil remediation for the United States Corps of Engineers at decommissioned Air Force Bases in Duluth, Grand Rapids and Baudette, Minnesota. Additional projects included Superfund, CERCLA, and RCRA sites around the country.

In 1998, Les joined a national airport consulting firm out of Chicago, Illinois. As Vice President of Engineering and Environmental Services he provided expertise to airports in planning, engineering and environmental services to airports across the United States. He attended Continuing Engineering Studies in Airport Pavements, Airport Planning and Airport Noise from the Center for Transportation Research, Aviation Research Center, at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Clients included: Bishop Airport in Flint, Michigan; Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport in Kalamazoo, Michigan; Lansing Airport in Lansing, Michigan; Mason City Airport and Fort Dodge Airport in Iowa; Rochester International Airport, Duluth International Airport and Sky Harbor Airport in Minnesota; Colorado Springs Airport in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Pensacola Airport in Pensacola, Florida; Aurora Airport in Aurora, Illinois. McGhie & Betts Transportation Services (2006 2013) In 2006, a legacy engineering company in Rochester, Minnesota, McGhie & Betts started a transportation company. Les was a partner and principal in the new firm. In addition to numerous private clients in the southeastern Minnesota area, he focused on transportation
(mostly airport) planning, design and construction, storm water management, project management, and financial consulting. His primary client was the Rochester International Airport, where he was the airport engineer of record from 2006 to 2013. He was responsible for direction and supervision of professional staff for related transportation and land development projects in southeast Minnesota. The McGhie & Betts companies sold in 2013 to WSB & Associates.
WSB & Associates (2013 2018)
Les joined WSB & Associates in 2013 as part of the McGhie & Betts sale. He continued with his numerous private clients in the southeastern Minnesota area, focusing on commercial and residential planning, design and construction, storm water management, project management, and financial consulting. Les left WSB in February, 2018.
