Relevant Project Experience

Geotechnical Inspection and Foundation Construction Monitoring

Geotechnical inspection includes field technical oversight of mass cut and fill operations, structural fill placement, lift thickness, subgrade proof-roll and remediation, field testing, supervision of field testing, review of test results for project compliance, soil probe, footing bearing inspection, pavement and slab-on-grade preparation, and recording and reporting of daily activities. Foundation construction monitoring includes monitoring of pile driving, auger cast-in-place concrete piles, drilled piers, reinforcing formwork, concrete placement, structural engineered fills, subgrade replacements, reinforced earth slopes, slope stabilization, retaining walls, flowable fill, recording daily operations and technical reporting.

Soil Testing and Backfill Monitoring

Soil testing includes VOC soil/air quality monitoring, in-place field moisture and density tests using a nuclear density gauge, field bulk sampling, lab compaction, natural water content and recordation of results. Backfill and fill monitoring includes lift thickness, moisture adjustment to optimum, roller pattern, stability, proof-rolling and reporting of daily activities.

Concrete Testing and Inspection

Portland cement concrete testing includes sampling, air content, slump, temperature, unit weight, fabrication of cylinders, fabrication of flexural beams, batch ticket verification and test reporting. Batch plant inspection includes batch monitoring, sampling of aggregates, sieve analysis of aggregates, moisture content, verification of percent within tolerances.

Concrete Masonry Testing and Inspection

Conduct field-testing in according to ASTM and ACI-530.1 standards. Field testing includes sampling concrete masonry units, mortar and grout, fabrication of compression speciments, grout slump, and reporting. Masonry inspection includes monitoring workmanship, checking embedments, verifying horizontal and vertical reinforcement, verifying proper accessory installations, inspection of lintels, bond beams and beam pockets, ambient temperature monitoring, verifying concrete masonry units and materials to approved submittals, inspection of mortar and grout placements, verify clean-outs, recordation of reporting of daily activities.

Portland Cement Concrete Plant Inspection

Sampling and testing of materials used in the production of concrete at the producer’s facility. Specific testing includes gradation by sieve analysis, moisture content and cleanliness of fine and coarse aggregates, sampling and preparation of reference samples. Inspection of general plant procedures, review of weigh tickets for adherence to specifications, reporting of test results and approved quantities for payment.

Hot Mix Asphalt Testing and Pavement Monitoring

Pavement monitoring includes sampling location determination, roller pattern for optimal compaction, lift thickness, joint quality, lay down temperature, tack coat application, superevelation monitoring, smart level usage. Field-testing includes sampling of asphalt, coring, placement temperature, in-place density using nuclear gauges and reporting.

Hot mix Asphalt Plant Quality Control/Assurance Inspection

Testing of paving materials, sieve analysis of aggregates, bulk specific gravity, maximum specific gravity, stability and flow, reference sampling and recordation of results. Inspection of plant procedures includes verification of plant quality control adherence to specifications. Responsible for calculation of payment, percent within limits, and reporting of payable quantities. Batch/Drum plant inspection includes sampling, fabrication of compacted samples, extraction of asphalt, sieve analysis, bulk specific gravity. JMF review, percent within limits, stability flow tests, Rice tests, mix temperature, tonnage monitoring and reporting.
