Graduated in Aerospace Engineering with focusing in Design Analysis & a work experience of 2 years in Manufacturing Industry. EDUCATION
Masters of Science, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Aug 2015- Sept 2017 University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (GPA- 3.5/4.0) Bachelor of Technology, Mechanical Engineering July 2009- May 2013 Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, University of Mumbai, India (GPA- 7.0/10.0) ENGINEERING PROJECTS IN GRADUATE COLLEGE:
(Masters Project) Computational Investigation of Passive surface flow control features for aerodynamic efficiency: The objective of the project was to delaying the flow separation of the boundary layer and increase the Lift/Drag ratio by introducing passive surface flow features like riblets. Both 2D and 3D CFD simulations were run for airfoils NACA 4412 and NACA 0012 in ANSYS Fluent. A set of Design of Experiments (DOE) were simulated in 2D & 3D by changing the parameters of the riblets. The CAD models for the DOE were developed using SolidWorks and MATLAB was used for Lift/ Drag prediction by using Surrogate Model of the DOE data.
Developed a CFD code in MATLAB for a uniform, inviscid subsonic flow governed by 2nd order PDE that hits a one period sign wave wrinkle in the metal skin of the wind tunnel by numerical simulation using Successive Over Relaxation method
(SOR) and Alternating Direction Implicit method (ADI).
Developed a CFD code in MATLAB to solve a dam break problem using 1-D shallow-water equations. The numerical schemes used were the 2nd order MacCormack method, Modified Runge Kutta method with TVD (Total variation diminishing scheme), 1st order Gudonav scheme and 3rd order ENO (Essentially non oscillatory) scheme.
Analyzed the distribution of size, temperature, velocity and distance of an evaporating water droplet using MATLAB.
Developed a MATLAB code for image segmentation using Distance Regularized level set evolution (DRLSE) for Medical application like Sonographic images, MRI
Developed a GUI in MATLAB for transformation (translation, rotation, shear, scale) of a 2D geometry as sketched by user. This was achieved by using different GUI objects which were linked to functions in which appropriate transformation matrices was coded.
Modeled a CNC machine and implemented a trajectory planning scheme on it. The trajectory planning scheme was developed using a sequence of parametric curves and 2D transformations in MATLAB while the CAD model was created in Autodesk Inventor and the dynamic simulation environment was used for tracing the trajectory.
Analyzed Fluid Structure Interaction on Wind Turbine Blade using ANSYS Fluent & ANSYS Mechanical. The blade was modelled using SolidWorks. ANSYS Fluent was used to simulate the steady state flow around the wind turbine blade using rotational frame of reference and the pressure load data was transferred to ANSYS Mechanical to obtain the deformation and stresses.
Designed a Power Box Chassis for a computer using Sheet Metal tools in SolidWorks.
Created CAD component and assembly of hydraulic pump in SolidWorks.
Designed a Car wheel rim in SolidWorks and did FEA structural analysis in ANSYS Mechanical. PUBLICATIONS:

ENGINEERING PROJECTS IN UNDERGRAD:
Design and analysis of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle intended for firefighting. o It incorporated the use of software like profili for wing design; CATIA for 3D modeling of the aircraft; Ansys for analyzing the flow parameters.
SAE Aero:
o Part of SAE Aero collegiate club and also of the team that participated in SAE Aero Design West Competition 2012 o Conducted basic aero modelling workshops in V.J.T.I. and other schools and colleges. o Exhibited robotic leg mechanism named ‘REVO’, in the national level technical festival of V.J.T.I. – ‘Technovanza’. WORK EXPERIENCE:
ANGI Energy Systems (Engineering Intern) April 2018 – Ongoing
Analyzing pressure pulsations in a reciprocating compressor & piping system using CFD tools. Reliance Industries Ltd (Mechanical Engineer) July 2013 - July 2015
Performed scheduled inspection and preventive maintenance activities to prevent breakdown of equipment in continuous polymerization plant as well as in Utilities division.
Directed the commissioning of 45 Gear pumps in Spinning section of polyester manufacturing plant.
Shutdown (CP4 Plant): Planned and executed multiple projects in a major Industrial Shutdown for 40 days for upgrading the capacity of polymer plant from 215 tons per day to 245 tons (14 %) per day. This upgradation mainly included replacement of End Stage Screw Pump into Gear pump for increased capacity and minimizing the existing losses. Shutdown responsibilities also included supervising the commissioning of Pumps, Directing the modification of piping system using P&ID, coordinating with different contact supervisors assigned for jobs like fabrication, scaffolding, insulation and overall coordination of project timelines with Gantt chart.
Shutdown (CP6 Plant): Felicitated for implementing project in an opportunity shutdown of overhauling of Mechanical Seal of finisher polymer agitator.
Responsible for planning weekly field activities, creating and updating the Bill of Materials, creating purchase requisitions, giving safety training to workers.
