Human Resource Manager (September, 1997 – Present) Tim Smith – Supervisor

Have been responsible for Human Resources services supporting up to 276 employees when in full production.

Manage employee relations, compensation and benefits.

Oversee payroll, accounts payable and administrative functions.

Initiate, research, evaluate, manage and maintain HR programs, policies and procedures.

Administer all communications and reporting with workers’ compensation and unemployment.

Manage recruitment, placement and staffing, position classification and employee relations.

Analyze position compensation and provide recommendations regarding pay adjustments.

Responsible for facilitating the performance review process and also ensuring content on all evaluations is appropriate on behalf of the organization.

Sole administrator of HRIS system.

Oversee actions throughout the mine site to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees. Prepare reports when disciplinary, discrimination or complaint issues arise.

Manage employee development and training throughout the departments. Experience with succession planning, this consisted of all the mine sites that were in operation.

Conduct all new employee screening, interviewing, drug and alcohol testing, new hire orientation and personnel placement in accordance with budget.

Accountable for short term and long term goals for the Human Resource and Safety/Security departments.

Responsible for developing and administering the Human Resources and Safety/Security budget.

Provide advice and counsel for the Safety/Security Department in relations to all employee matters.

Assist with MSHA inspections.

Continued to perform all duties held as Employee Relations Administrator and Human Resource Assistance.

Responsible for month end, quarterly and yearend personnel reporting

COMPUTER SKILLS

HR Pro software package, ORGPLUS, and AccPac (Human Resource and payroll software). Currently working with, Microsoft software excel and word. Also familiar with Power Point, Photo Shop and Quick Books Pro.
