Global Fraud application is a large application which comprise of number of different applications. Whose individual responsibility is to prevent Fraud,Anti money laundering and protect company's Brand value and reputation. Along with to comply with the US government regulated standards to avoid financial penalty due to Non-compliance.
WWCAS - Worldwide Credit Authorization System:-
WWCAS or CAS is a Global Transaction Processing System servicing the Client's card business and providing risk management. It is company's most mission critical system. Encompassing On-line, Real time and batch processing, WWCAS applications are developed and maintained in CASTPF (Transaction Processing Facility) (On-Line),CASMVS(Off-line). In total there are around 5000 Mainframe Jobs in CAS portfolio, most of which run daily basis or based on file triggered, some run on weekly schedule, some runs on Monthly schedule and very few on Yearly basis.
Current Dev-ops Roles and Responsibility in project:-

Resolving job abend and make system Up and Running.
Root Cause Analysis for the frequently occurring job abend.
Root Cause analysis of the issue raised by business team and provide resolution .
Provide the permanent fix for the ticket or provide suggestion if it requires Code-fix or data-fix as a part of Kanban story.
Providing Cost saving ideas/Demand Management ideas which could improve performance of the process and reduce Cost of the running application,such as reducing cpu utilization, storage cost reduction.
Creation of automated tools using REXX/CLIST to reduce manual effort.
Preparing data extraction Report based on Client Request by Running High Complex SQL Query.
Monitoring the System Upgrade emails from Infra team, and take p reventive action for any upcoming outages (e.g. Holding batch Jobs) and join the post implementation validation call to confirm system stability or any issue.
Coordinating with security team who install security patches to fix the vulnerabilities and do application validation once activity is completed.
Executing annual Disaster Recovery excercise.
Disaster Recovery Planning and execution.
Every year Disaster Recovery planning or DR exercise is being performed to make sure Mirror system would be able to provide same support if the Primary system would go down in any worst circumstance, thus Business Continuity would be possible.
All application must always have non-expired DR plan. Team responsibility is to prepare and maintain of Disaster Recovery plan and make sure the plan won't expire.
All team must update the DR Exercise and Test Cases and get it approved by Leadership and DR Team.
On the day of actual Disaster Recovery exercise, Team will execute the DR Test Cases which is mainly running the Batch jobs in Mirror system and compare the output with Primary system and make sure both are same. Get the DR Exercise result approved by all stake holders and DR Team within SLA.

The Project was on Legacy Modernization. HCSC wanted some of their application to be converted from Cobol-CICS programs to GUI based version.
The tool Relativity Modernization Workbench was used to Read the Program and extract the flow of the Program and represent it in Graphical manner.
