Surgical Suite Coordinator, Aug 1999-June 2018
• Schedule Pre-admission testing appointments and maintain and update the appointment calendars
• Coordinating specialty services for those with disabilities like those needing language interpreters
• Maintain O.R. schedules and distribute within Peri-operative services keeping staff, nurses, surgeons, anesthesia, and offices informed of procedures and/or changes
• Schedule space and equipment for special procedures, keeping staff, nurses, surgeons, anesthesia and offices informed.
• Organizing instrument requests, supply requests and notifying ancillary services i.e. radiology, mammo, nuclear med and contacting reps to keep them informed.
• Identify incomplete information on booking forms and making appropriate corrections so staff, nurses, surgeons, anesthesia and ancillary services have all correct information.
• Perform administrative support tasks as needed, such as proof reading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators to do minute, daily, monthly and yearly stats and the computer for all scheduling needs, documents, and reports.
• Maintain reports such as cancelled case review, O.R. charge review, O.R. time length, total worksheet reports, laser reports and other reports to reps as needed; Mitek, Arthrex, Holmium, Greenlight Laser, Smith & Nephew etc.
• Train assistant surgical suite coordinator with basic duties to cover Coordinator in absences/vacations
• Expedite paperwork and required instrumentation and staffing for urgent add on surgeries
• Implemented a system of letting O.R. nurses/management know of incoming procedures with special instrument requests for the ease of making sure we have enough supplies on hand in advance and ordering the proper instruments to be at our facility on time and processed through central sterile.
• Created a surgery scheduling hand book with step by step screen shots so that anyone could come in and schedule or cancel a surgery, print preference cards and daily schedules, print daily O.R. reports or perform any task in my absence.
• Created spreadsheets for Company Reps to inform them of procedures where their services would be needed. This was a revolving form that would be updated whenever there were changes so the reps always knew when and what time they needed to be at the hospital.
• Proficient in EMR, All Scripts, Excel, Word and power point programs
• Certificate training in organ transplants, HIPPA, fire training, disaster training and malignant hyperthermia. CPR/BLS/AED/First aid certified
• Assisted in Central sterile folding towels, and wrapping basins. Putting O.R supplies away and looking for outdates. Assisted nurses transporting patients on stretcher from Recovery back to One day. Accompanying patient’s family members from waiting room to recovery room. EDUCATION

• Committee Chair, Advancement Chair, Scout leader: wolf, Bear, Webelo 1 and Webelo -2 crossed all boys into Boy Scouts. Den Leader position specific trained, den leader award knot, Baloo (basic adult leader outdoor orientation) trained, youth protection trained, received my post doctorate in scouting through University of Scouting. Recipient of the Scouter award.

Springfield Hospital annual Golf Tournament – 5 years. Assist in selling and organizing raffle prizes,
“hole sitter”. Each year proceeds from the tournament support a variety of campaigns to enhance services for Springfield Hospital. I.e. renovations for the childbirth center, specialty medical equipment, as well as new x-ray equipment.
Bus coordinator for Springfield Hospital bus trips to TD Garden/Boston Disney on ice. Share Southern Vermont Pregnancy and Infant loss support group – Board member 6 year LGF: Vermont let’s go fishing instructor- Certified. The Let’s Go Fishing program is a network of volunteer instructors who encourage and teach young people and their families how to fish. Instructors organize and instruct clinics in the community through training workshops that teach basic fishing clinics in addition to learning about fishing ethics, aquatic ecology, fisheries management, habitat conservation and tackle craft. They also introduce specialized fishing clinics on ice fishing and species-specific fishing. LGF events are free to the public.
Takodah YMCA developmental Travel tours – Teach major concepts in American History in a hands on fashion. Nurture sense of belonging as students become part of a “family unit” as they teach one another about the various historical sites they visit.
Foster autonomy as students learn and make choices for themselves as they spend 3 – 6 days away from home.
Encourage students to adopt 21st century skills like group work, social settings, problem solving and supporting each other.
Foster/encourage/support achievement – every student will have the opportunity to “take charge” of their group, teaching them about our country’s history.
Foster students and student relationships as they share a hotel room, ride on the bus, share meals together, and develop life- long relationships.
BC: bus coordinator – responsible for those students/staff on their bus and initial contact for group leaders and liaison between Tour Director, bus drivers, nurses and leaders. Assist tour director with serious group/student issues, support person for leaders having difficulty or for the new leader.
Set and maintain communication and guidelines to all on the bus/tour and institutes positive management of behavior of all.
