Graduate Research Assistant (UMASS Lowell) Sept 2015- April 2016

Developed the DOE to injection mold recycled Nylon 6. Used ASTM tests to find out MFR & tensile strength. Carried out DSC and TGA to study material composition. Compared test results with virgin resin to analyze effect of recycling on Nylon 6.

Analyzed the effects of different label types and adhesives on HDPE recyclability. Developed the DOE to carry out extrusion of HDPE regrind containing paper base and BOPP labels with hot melt and epoxy acrylic adhesive. Evaluated % PP content in the extruded material using FTIR and measured material density and melt flow rate by standard ASTM tests.

Investigated the effect of mineral filler concentration on color extensibility in LLDPE matrix. Outlined the Design of Experiments (DOE) and prepared formulations via twin screw compounding. Analyzed injection molded plaques via color spectrograph.

Designed a cell phone holder in SolidWorks and performed flow analysis in Moldflow. Used 3D printing to scrutinize ergonomics of the design. Designed and milled mold inserts using Mastercam programming and CNC milling. Molded the part using injection molding.

Attend workshop for Mold and die design by Husky, Knowledge of Custom Vacuum forming and Thermoforming molding.
