PERSONAL SUMMARY

I am currently unemployed. Previously I was working at PR Pather Secondary School. I was teaching isiZulu, SS (Geography) and Creative Arts, all in grade 8. I qualified for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in December 2015 at the University of KwaZulu/Natal. My teaching specializations are: IsiZulu (FET), English and Life Orientation (SP). However, I completed my BA Degree in December 1999 at the University of Durban – Westville that is now the University of KwaZulu/Natal. As a language teacher, I have a desire to inspire and to bring about change in the minds of learners through analytical and critical thinking skills. Since I regard language learning as the arena to adapt and/ or to develop understanding of different cultural perspectives to enhance and broaden the minds of learners through language culture. Previously I have worked at a casino an environment with diverse personality types of people at different levels, as far as co-worker level to customer service level. This experience will help me in successful liaising with learners with different backgrounds. Furthermore one of my teaching practices I have done it at an English medium school (Phoenix Secondary).
