Achievements

Successfully directed and managed The Option Clearing Corporations (OCC’s) first venture into offshore development of a Risk Based Securities Subsystem in partnership with Silverline Technologies of India.

Successfully managed and implemented a high profile and large scale modification of OCC’s clearing and settlement systems to conform to an SEC industry mandate to convert stock prices from a fractional to decimal format at the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and American Stock Exchange.

Managed the successful development and implementation of OCC’s inaugural futures product, Single Stock Futures, sponsored by the NASDAQ-Liffe and OneChicago exchanges. This high profile and complex project is unique in that it required design and development of its own clearing and settlement system within time critical trading deadlines and ever changing requirements.

Managed the successful development and implementation of SPDR’s (options on the S&P 500 Index) sponsored by the American Stock Exchange. New product introductions are aggressive and complex in nature and viewed by the OCC as integral and time critical corporate objectives that enhance the growth and financial stability of the corporation.

Designed and managed the implementation of a real-time (highly available) object oriented client server application for an Asset Custody System. This complex project is responsible for the movement, process, and balancing of billions of dollars of margin collateral daily between the Depository Trust Company and the Options Clearing Corporation.

Recognition from Senior Executives at American National Bank and Trust for successfully managing several bank consolidations into one bank charter focusing primarily on the retail lending business unit.

Successfully managed the large scale conversion of Marshall Field and Company Point of Sale Application from a Sperry Univac to an IBM processing platform.

Coordinated and installed a major hardware upgrade of NCR point of sale equipment for Marshall Fields and Frederick & Nelson, Seattle Washington (44 total stores in 5 states) over a three-year timeframe. The upgrade consisted of over 2000 cash registers and hundreds of concentrators hooked to a network for transmitting sales transactions to the Chicago corporate headquarters.

Extensive experience with software development vendors (Advanced Information Systems) to develop a new TIMS Margin System (Theoretical Intermarket Margins System). Worked with products such as Rational Rose for UML diagramming, ROBOHELP for interactive online help, GUI design, SQL Development, and Use Case methodology.

Designed a real-time Asset Custody portal application utilizing client server technology to process pledged collateral (valued securities, specific deposits, and government securities) for margins requirements between the Depository Trust Company and OCC.

Responsible for the design and implementation of many other projects associated with margin settlement, bank settlement, position accounting, mark to market, and various collateral enhancements.

Senior Programmer Analyst/Project Leader

Responsible for the daily support and operation of Newtrend’s (Computer Associates) UCCEL Installment Loans Package. Responsibilities included incorporation of new products such as overdraft checking, dealer rebate processing, fee income, billing, and various interfaces that integrate with DDA, CIF, and General Ledger Systems.

Managed all system enhancements and modifications to support bank merger and acquisition activities in the retail and commercial lending business units.

Participated in new software package evaluation and RFP (Request for Proposal) preparation. The study involved AFS3, Hogan, and Newtrend banking systems as replacements for the retail and commercial lending systems.

Provided accurate credit reporting monthly to the various credit agencies (TRW, TransUnion, Equifax).

Prepared detailed project plans and schedules and supervised project teams of up to five programmers.

Implemented modifications for regulatory compliance and reporting.
