1997-Present
When I met my wife I formed All American Accounting. With this firm besides doing my small accounts I went out and landed some much larger accounts, for example:
1.Holistic Addiction Treatment, Inc in North Miami Beach, I was put in charge of the whole accounting department with 7 people who worked under me. My duties besides the complete financial records, financial statements, tax returns and working with the auditors, I had to deal with the personal finances of all our clients. I stayed with them until they sold in 2012.
2.Sunshine 2000 Construction and Development, Inc. I was the CFO of this major construction company. The gross revenue was $26,000,000 and there were 90 employees. I was responsible for the complete financial end of this business, included payroll, tracking the draws and payments to subcontractors, and making sure there was no liens filed against the company by either the owner or subcontractor.
3.Affiniti Financial, LLC. I am the CFO of this insurance agency that sells almost every
Type of insurance. There are 16 licensed agents and 6 people in a back-office support role. Again, I am CFO and responsible for all the accounting, including payroll, commissions, tax returns and financial statements.
RDJ Management Corp
1982-1996
I used this company to go off on my own and open a small accounting practice. During this time, I managed to obtain various clients from jewelry stores, auto body and repair shops, real estate firms, and other various retail shops. I prepared monthly write ups, quarterly payroll taxes, monthly sales taxes as well as year-end financial statements and business taxes returns, as well as the owners personal tax returns.
Context Industries, Inc.
1978-1981
I was hired has the assistant controller for this publicly held real estate development company. My job responsibilities were to work with the independent auditors in preparing the books for the SEC quarterly filings and the year end audit. I prepared all the books and journal entries, as well as all the schedules for the independent auditors.
Alamo Rent A Car, Inc.
1972-1978
I was hired as a staff accountant assisting the controller in preparing monthly financial statements, including accounts receivable and payables, and monthly journal entries. After six months I was promoted to be controller of the reconditioning center, where I had three people under me. In 1975 I was transferred to the Florida division where I was made fleet manager, as fleet manager my responsibility was to make sure all 3,55 cars were properly insured and had the correct license plate on them. I was also in charge of accounting for the whereabouts of all the cars and informed the city managers if a car came up missing.
