Duties:
Basic Functions;
-act as the Lab Manager in the absence of the Lab Manager
Carrying out physical & chemical analyses on all samples such as crude oils, intermediate & finished petroleum products, utility & process water samples, lube oil samples, scales & sludge from different units, process chemicals, industrial wastes, effluent water, samples related with environmental pollution
-Follows standard test methods adopting wet chemistry techniques and state-of-the-art technology, in conjunction with sophisticated, computerized Laboratory equipment, for plant control, quality control, product certification, corrosion control, etc.
Work Performed;
-involved in the building,commissioning and certification of FOB
Leatherneck, FOB Frontanec and HRDC fuels laboratories by the USA military quality control.
-Assists in the day-to-day activities of the Laboratory. Includes preparing & standardizing chemical reagents & solutions necessary for analyses, moving & fixing gas cylinders for instrumental analysis & reporting abnormal conditions
-Prepares calibration blends to check performance of analyzers and reports damaged and malfunctioning of lab equipment to the Lab Manager for remedial action.
-Performs experimental studies for product quality improvement, better yields & to determine the cause of any problems affecting product quality.
-Assists in the installation, commissioning & calibration of newly acquired Laboratory equipment. Prepares calibration blends to check performance of analyzers & reports damage & malfunctioning of Lab equipment to the Lab Manager for remedial action.
-Complies with all HSE rules & regulations, including the use of protective clothing & equipment & participates in Fire fighting, first aid & safety drills.
