Career Summary:
Extremely versatile engineer with petrochemical, chemical process, Green Energy, GTL plants, Pilot Plants, Syn-Gas, rotating equipment, oil/gas (Upstream/downstream), waste management, and metal fabrication experience. Extensive experience in project management/development/design including: Equipment selection/specifications, design calculations, documentation, assembly drawing production, system controls, computer programming, technical writing, mechanical, electrical, pump performance analysis, stress analysis and hydraulics.
Employment History:
June 2012-Present, Plant Process Equipment - (Plant Engineer)
Generated project proposal estimates/quotes of skid mounted equipment for several petrochemical, chemical, Green Energy/GTL, Natural Gas processing with Amine, and Syn-Gas, applications. GTL projects & proposals included Scrap Rubber to Oil, Used Oil Recycling, Plastics Pyrolysis to Oil, and Fischer-Tropsch proposals. Contacted vendors & coordinated the purchasing and installation of skid mounted equipment including compressor packages, lube/hydraulic systems, pumping packages, heating packages (Electric, Gas, Hot Oil, Boilers), Cooling Towers, heat exchangers, Motor Control Centers (MCC), stationary motors, electric motors, Electrical Equipment, and instrumentation. Produced One Line diagrams and coordinated our electrical power requirements (MCC, cable/conduit schedules, etc). Also managed the skid assembly group assuring proper installation of instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical equipment. Performed system tests, troubleshooting, used CodeCalc for pressure vessel applications, relief valve calculations, wrote startup procedures, & participated in HAZOP meetings.
August 2011 - June 2012 Texas Industrial - (Project Engineer)
Generated drawing packages of existing products and developed a new actuator series product for opening and closing larger valves. Also assisted with test procedures to measure performance of equipment.
August 2009 - January 2011 Kelly Engineering - (Contract for British Petroleum)
Generated technical reports for SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems), instrumentation calibration. and testing. Worked onsite at the Texas City refinery to write procedures for the Units. Procedures were generated using P&ID’s with occasional trips to various units to verify P&ID accuracy.
Jan 2009 - July 2009 Addecco - (Contract Engineer with GE)
Ran proprietary software to estimate gas turbine generator performance for GE’s LMS 100, LMS 6000 series, and LM 2500 products. Supported sales by generating performance estimates and guarantees for power, emissions, degradation models, custom fuel calculations, etc, to address customer requirements. Also produced correction procedures to estimate performance when ambient conditions were different than the guarantee conditions.
July 2003 - November 2008 Plant Process Equipment - (Liaison Engineer)
Generated project proposal estimates/quotes of skid mounted equipment for several petrochemical, chemical, Natural Gas processing with Amine, Syn-Gas, and Green Energy/GTL applications. GTL projects included our 25 Tons per day, Utah Methanol plant (Using hog manure to create Methanol), Thermochemical Conversion (TCC) Pilot Plant (Green Energy Plant that converted manure or trap grease to Crude Oil) & our Red River Armory bio-diesel plant. Directed the electrical installation for our Utah Methanol project. I provided complete turnkey engineering for our $3 million TCC Pilot Plant (Converted manure or trap grease to Crude Oil), revised process (PFD & PID) drawings for customer approval, I&E process support, specified and procured all pumping, mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment. I also procured our DCS, electrical protection and power distribution system, motor control center, piping materials, obtained quotes to refurbish equipment, located used pressure vessels, exchangers, and other used equipment to complete system requirements for the Pilot Plant. Directed the electrical installation, electrical testing, equipment tests, and worked as part of the unit startup of our Red River Bio-diesel plant. Used CodeCalc for pressure vessel applications, verified proper equipment installation, system startups, and system troubleshooting.
October 2001 - May 2003 National Oilwell (Formerly Baylor) - (Industrial Engineer)
Generated metal removal programs for CNC lathes and mills for production of large rotating equipment (Electrical generators). Also designed fixtures, jigs, and testing equipment using AutoCad. Produced technical reports for equipment specifications, equipment purchases, hydraulics, force, and stress calculations.
October 1999 - September 2001 Unidynamics Inc. - Conroe, TX - (Project Engineer)
Project Engineer for Ammunition Lift Platform (custom designed elevator) and Rescue Boat Closures on new US Navy LPD-17 Amphibious Assault Ship. Provided complete engineering and design packages from initial concept to final design, generating shop and fabrication drawings with AutoCad. Produced technical reports and performed analysis for hydraulics, force, and stress calculations, documented engineering and production schedules, installation, equipment specification, start-up, and maintenance. As a company representative, I conducted design reviews of above projects with the prime contractor, consultants, and Navy personnel.
February 1998 - October 1999 UES Controls Inc. - Baytown, TX (Project Engineer)
Generated energy management control submittals containing wiring diagrams, software, graphics, control sequences, specified materials, and valve sizes for commercial building HVAC equipment using AutoCad & Word Perfect. Provided field support as necessary to match submitted equipment and ease installation.
March 1996 - January 1998 Atec Inc. - Houston TX - (Project Engineer)
Coordinated multiple projects simultaneously for Jet Engine Test Facility in Saudi Arabia. Performed AutoCad design, drafting coordination, budget management, design reviews, engineering, stress, fluid, and pneumatic flow calculations. Specified electrical controls, pumping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment to meet design criteria. Generated technical documents for equipment installation, operating procedures, and maintenance. Hands-on and also contractor supervision of equipment installation in Saudi Arabia.
