TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

CAPE-Caribbean Studies Assistant Examiner.(A Caribbean Examination Council Exam)

August 28,2007- present. History, Social Studies, Caribbean Studies, Spanish and English. (I have taught these subjects in combination at various times) Grades 7-13 including CXC and CAPE. Holy Trinity High School.

Key Function: Plan to teach children who present with diverse cognitive, psychological and behavioural challenges. I prepare students for national and regional CXC and CAPE exams. I also hold Form/Homeroom Teacher responsibilities. Work on various committees.

Enjoy success rates from the CXC exam groups

Lesson Planning and execution to accommodate varying learning styles and paced students.

Preparation and creation of resources that facilitate student-centred, age-appropriate learning.

Continuous assessment of students work and implementation of requisite remediation strategies that facilitate student improvements.

Analysis of, Planning and projection of improvements in student’s performance.

Cater to students of various learning styles. Write original dub-poetry, songs, poems etc. to teach concepts and content that are difficult to retain and understand.

August 28, 2006 - August 31, 2007. Caribbean Studies -CAPE and History Teacher at the prestigious Wolmer’s Boys School. National Heroes Circle Kingston 4.

Key Function: Taught Caribbean Studies to Sixth (12th grade) form history to first through to third form. I also had form teacher responsibilities. (Temporary- 1 year position)

98% of students passed the exam. Some of these students currently keep in touch with me and are doing excellently. Some are Lecturers, Business leaders, Bankers etc.

Coached the debating team to the third round of our National finals.

Served as a Form teacher.

I was the first teacher in this year who used a Wolmers email account to send assignments, notes or hello notes to students. This improved homework and deadline compliance.

September 1999- 2002 Part-time Teacher-General Education Diploma.-(GED) International Institute of Science and Technology. 20 Central Plaza Kingston 10.

Key Function: Taught an American Social Studies programme. Its components were -History, Economics, Behavioural Science, Political Science and Geography.

August 2007 Trained representatives from very respected Jamaican Business entities. I served in the capacity of Customer Service Facilitator for the Jamaica Employers Federation. (J.E.F.) Trained staff members from several companies including Qualcare, National Water Commission, Grace Foods among others. The training was highly rated. Highest scores of 4 and 5 given.

Learnt and spoke job related Spanish with Costa Rica.
