COVER LETTER
I am very interested in pursuing the next step of my career within your dermatology family. Dermatology has been my goal and inspiration for completing the master’s program in family practice. I have always had a passion for education and healthcare promotion. I believe that by being able to work with clients to provide treatments that improve not only their health but add value to their daily routines is meaningful and inspiring. It would create a sense of accomplishment professionally, and personally knowing that with the skills I’ve obtained via my training and expertise, clients would achieve the best outcomes.
As a healthcare provider, I have found that interacting directly with patients and expanding their healthcare knowledge are the most rewarding aspects of the profession. I would excel at the opportunity to educate patients on healthcare services that elevate their health. Being a provider on the front line and having one-on-one patient interaction is important to me and the role I see myself apprising in the future. I believe a career with your practice will allow me to have a positive professional relationship with clients in a field I am passionate about.
By becoming a part of your family, I bring with me professional experiences from my emergency nursing career at Lakeland Regional Health as well as my experiences in caring for both the pediatric and adult populations in advanced family practice. During my experiences as an advanced practice provider, I have been responsible for managing primary care and directing urgent care services for a wide patient population. The time I spent at LRH helped me become a hard-worker as well as a successful leader. As a leader in healthcare, it is important to not just tell the team what to do but show the team how to accomplish common goals together. I learned how to truly lead and be a better team member through my role as a trauma nurse in the emergency department. My role in this position was, not only to facilitate lifesaving procedures in critically ill patients but to incorporate evidence based practices to improve healthcare outcomes.
My optimism and fresh approach on tough issues helped relieve stress for the team and clear the way for problem solving to occur on the unit. The trauma team, with my help, increased patient outcomes and improved the outcomes of sepsis for trauma patients. Leading with initiative and creativity is one of my strengths, and allowed me to connect with team members to create solutions resulting in better patient care. I would love the opportunity to share these professional strengths with your team.
I look forward to growing as a practitioner and enhancing my current skills with you.
Thank you for the opportunity,
Steven Betteridge, MSN, FNP-C
