January 2017 to September 2017 – American Airlines – Tempe AZ
QA testing lead and developer in converting American Airlines credit card processing files from FTP to sFTP. Included in the effort were PGP Encryption and AES Encryption upgrades. This project involved both internal and external partners during testing. Communication and coordination were essential in successful completion.
Tools used: sFTP, Rexx, JCL, and IBM’s suite of development tools.

Developer assigned to a team tasked with the responsibility of converting COBOL EZTRIEVE, and TELON modules to Enterprise Cobol using the zOS operating system. In the case of the EZTRIEVE AND TELON modules the task is to re-write them entirely in COBOL with the stated management goal of improving performance.
The standard suite of IBM development tools is used in this effort.
May 2014 to December 2014 – Boeing Aircraft –Seattle WA.
Analyst assigned to a team charged with the responsibility of reverse engineering the Composite Information Management System (CIMS) written in COBOL using DB2 and Dialog Manager using the AGILE development methodology . In short, the team analyzed over 200 hundred programs to identify the business rules for each. Then documented those rules so that they could be used as a basis for writing program specifications for a new system to be written in C# on a new platform.
October 2012 to July 2013 - Ford Motor Credit
Analyst assigned to the EDW reporting team. Duties included the extraction, transformation and
loading of data from business DB2 tables to the EDW reporting team Teradata databases.

Software tools used in this effort include COBOL 390, IMS DB, DB2, and Microsoft Office Suite.
February 2006 to June 2007 – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
Analyst assigned to the Medicare Advantage Subsidy project. Essentially a data mining operation, this effort determined subscriber and group eligibility for subsidy payments from Medicare. To do this, subscriber membership and claims information was retrieved from various BCBSM data stores. This data was then packaged and sent to Medicare for evaluation and approval. Software tools used in this effort include COBOL 390, IMS DB, DB2, and Microsoft Office Suite
April 2005 to February 2006 – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Detroit MI
Analyst assigned to the Flexible Blue project – a new product offered by the insurer featuring high deductibles in return for lower monthly premiums. The primary focus of this project was to integrate drug claims into the product. To that end, duties included identifying groups and membership that have the eligible drug benefit, communicating that information to partnered vendors administrating the plan and processing and storing claim information. March 2004 to April 2005 - Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Detroit MI
Analyst assigned to the Social Security Elimination project. An effort designed to replace the SSN as the subscribers contract ID with a deidentified number throughout the system. Duties include the identification of all data stores housing the contract Id and all application programs accessing those stores. Once identified, the appropriate design changes are made, coded, tested and implemented.
A second project within SSN Elimination is the installation of a data access layer in application programs currently using IMS or DB2 database calls. Duties in this area include identification of data access applications candidates, as well as the design, coding, testing and implementation of the common routines to replace the database calls.

Involved in the HIPAA compliance upgrade of the Blue Cross ACCESS system. Responsibilities include all CICS applications. These programs provide for online real-time claims editing and as a consequence of HIPAA require considerable refitting.
November 2001 to October 2002 – University of Michigan Health System – Ann Arbor, MI
Converted a data extract and reporting system written in FOCUS to COBOL II, ORACLE, UNIX and CRYSTAL REPORTS. The data extract is submitted to the University Hospital Consortium for
Purposes of caseload evaluation and comparison. The reporting system allows management to
evaluate the data and correct errors before submission.
October 2000 to October 2001 – University of Michigan Health System – Ann Arbor, MI
Assisted in a new development effort in the Admitting and Business Services department. The Workflow system that tracks an inpatient from booking to Discharge insuring all the various business tasks required during a patient stay are completed. Responsibilities include the development of management reports and business forms using Crystal Reports 8.0 and Oracle 8.16.
Also responsible for the support of the Registration Workflow system – an automated paperless process that replaced the Insurance Verification departments’ mainframe exception reporting system. Duties primarily include resolving data and/or scheduling issues between the Oracle database and the mainframe.
