Estimated an annual savings of $120000 due to the reduction of variation in the sheet etching process. This estimate was calculated based on an average of $14 savings per sheet.
Estimated an annual savings of $4000 through the determination of an optimum level of etch rate using SPC analysis and thus, facilitating the decision making process of acid-bath change.
Reduced the Defects Per Million Opportunities (DPMO) by 77% and improved the process yield from 87% to 94% by implementing DMAIC methodology to the sheet etching process.
Calculated Risk Priority Number (RPN) for factors affecting the etching process using a PFMEA chart and suggested improvements to the process based on this chart.
