HISTORY OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Infosys at LATAX Jul 2017 to Present

Helping convert the LATAX system to JAVA.

My role is to explain, research, be the Powerbuilder code expert to the JAVA team. The LATAX system is in Powerbuilder 12.5 with ORACLE 12.1 using EASERVER 5.5 and AGILE methodology. The application manages the City of Los Angeles taxation system. The goal of the project is to “modernize” and convert the LATAX system to JAVA through an Infosys proprietary tool instead of rewriting from scratch. Very unique experience using PVCS 8.5 and SqlTools 1.8 in VM environment.

Christ Citadel International Church

Analyst/Architect/Powerbuilder developer Jan 2017 to Jul 2017

Designed, coded and implemented the church management system in Powerbuilder 12.5 and Sybase SqlAnywhere 11.

Consulting Global LLC

Analyst/Architect/Tester/Powerbuilder developer Jul 2016 to Jan 2017

Designed, coded and implemented The NSA Companion software. The application was designed to manage The Notary Signing Agent document and signing process. The application is in testing now in Illinois, New Mexico and California. The application was in Powerbuilder 12.5 with a Sybase SqlAnywhere 11.

Department of Health, State of New Mexico, WIC –

Powerbuilder Analyst/developer/Architect/Consultant: Jan 2010 to Jul 2016

Enhanced, maintained the WIC application with new functionalities.

Converted the application from 85 servers environment to a central cluster with one server with failover on 4 other server. Part of the job was done remotely from Los Angeles.

Architect of a new consolidated and central database in a cluster environment.

Converted this application from PB 9.0 to PB 11.5 and PB 12.1.

Reengineered the application for a conversion to .NET using a Web Service as interface between the PBLs and the .Net components.

Converted the application to Web based using Appeon 6.5. The application ran with 350 users throughout the state of New Mexico, monitored Women and Infants Care provided by the Federal Government with the CDC and the FDA rules.

Williams Gas Company –

Powerbuilder consultant / developer: April 2008 to Jul 2009

Enhanced, maintained the LandRow system to manage all the company pipe lines in the country. This system was converted from PB 6.5 to PB 8 with Oracle 8i and fed the accounting system.

Participated in developing the new Liquid system which was an addition to the Gaskit Project.

Maintain the Gaskit applications with all the users enhancements requests. This application was converted from PB 6.5 to PB 10.5 with Oracle 10i.

Powerbuilder developer / IT Solutions Specialist: April 2008 to Jan 2009

Designed and developed the volunteers and children sponsorship system in PB 11 with Sybase 9.

Silva Data Services –

Powerbuilder developer / IT Solutions Specialist: June 2005 to March 2008

Enhanced and maintained The ARKO system, a garment industry management system and payroll. Converted the application originally written in PB 9.0 to PB 10.5 and PB 11 and Sybase.

Wrote a prototype Video QC program for Studios in Burbank with PB 9.0 and Oracle 9i.

Wrote Programs to manage Orphanages sponsored by a church in different countries.

Recently converted all these programs written in PB 9.0 to PB 10.5 and Powerbuilder 11.

Universal Studios –

Project Lead/Analyst/Senior Developer : November 2000 to June 2005

Brought The Sound and video Quality Control Program from infancy to full blown 24/7 application. The program written in PowerBuilder 9.01, tracks and converts any movie from big wheel to a video master tape. The program converts from any video format to any format (PAL, NTSC, 24 frame drop or non drop…) The task that was taking 80 hours for two operators was reduced to a minute processing. The application database was successfully converted from Sybase to MS SQL 6.5 and later on it was successfully converted from MS SQL 2000 to Oracle 9i with Stored Procedures, Triggers and PFC. These conversions were a good example of team work with the DBA group. The program writes all the different reports needed and emails a copy to managers and other relevant systems. The same program was implemented in the Sound department for Quality Control. It was a major accomplishment for the Studio. Copyrights discussion started with the Legal department to preserve this major accomplishment. Some of the reports created with Cristal Report.

Getty Museum - Consultant/ Senior Developer /Analyst: July 2000 to November 2000

Programming and maintenance of an art object tracking system using Powerbuilder 6.5 and Oracle 8i database for the Getty Museum. Added a new application called “Presentation” to the existing system to track all repairs on major art objects.

Verizon (GTE) –

Consultant/ Senior Developer / Analyst July 1993 to April 2000

Analysis, design and programming of Major Accounts Sales support system and Toll Contracts management system for Verizon (GTE). Implemented and supported the system with 300 users throughout the U.S. The client/server application was developed using Powerbuilder 5.0 and Informix database. The system resided on a Digital Alpha server 2100 in a Unix environment with data coming from an IBM mainframe. The client interface was deployed on the user workstation (MS Windows 95/NT). The network was Banyan with TCP/IP. Acted as the unique point of contact for the users community and the production and system support.
