Responsibilities include:
Work under the direction of the Quality Assurance Officer to investigate internal or external quality related complaints.
Work collaboratively with company Regulatory Affairs personnel to ensure current understanding of all rules and regulations from applicable regulatory boards and committees (example: State Board of Pharmacy, USP guidelines and OSHA).
Work collaboratively with the Pharmacists and Technicians to ensure our quality and compounding policies and procedures are kept current.
Review and verify calculation accuracy and compounding requirements for “New Drug Formulas” with oversight by the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at Houston.
Responsible for sending out quarterly QA test samples to contracted external Laboratory for testing/analysis, receive, and review of test results for acceptability.
Assist the Quality Assurance Officer in conducting quarterly or biannual onsite Internal Quality Assurance audits at all Avella Retail, Laboratory, or Mail Order facilities.
Assist QA Officer in conducting biannual quality assurance meetings or Quality related training for existing or new programs impacting all Compounding Pharmacy Technicians or other internal staff in the company.
Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance Officer in: Drafting of new QA Departmental procedures, review of new or revised company procedures, and training and development of all newly hired compounding technicians (training includes but is not limited to; dosage forms, proper technique, safety precautions, calculations, current compounding laws, workflow etc.)
Perform other duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Officer to ensure uniform quality assurance throughout the entire company.
