Employment

Luvata Grenada LLC / Industrial Coolers; Design Engineer. September 2015 – Present.

Tasks:

oDevelopment and design of new products for the Industrial coolers and Applied Products departments.

oPerform structural simulation and finite element analysis for the validation and development of new product. Interpret FEA results and apply recommend design changes to meet product performance requirements.

oEvaluate and design electromechanical products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials.

oCommunicate and work with other Luvata HTS Regions, HTS manufacturing and customers to assure a smooth transition from one region to another with global product development.

oDeveloping and analysis of manufacturing process flow for new products.

oCreation and implementation of tooling and fixtures for assembly process needed for the manufacture of new products.

oDevelopment of material analysis for components to calculate manufacturing costs.

oSupport customer applications with heat transfer, energy and/or refrigeration cooler designs. Review for approval and manufacturing technical drawing packages.

oSupport other engineers and designers with product development projects related to design and documentation as needed.

Accomplishments:

Successfully design and manufacture of the first Air Blast Cooler Global Radiator Version for the USA, developing the adaptation for the design, materials selections, assembly process flow and required fixtures.

Global Air Inc.; Mechanical Design Engineer. March 2012 – June 2015.

Tasks:

oDevelopment of technical drawings, measurements and 3D modeling of heat exchanger devices and other components of the A/C system for vehicles in the aftermarket industry using reverse engineering techniques.

oCreation of components technical drawings for tooling development.

oAnalysis of collected data from reverse engineering process to modify and improve product design.

oDevelopment of material analysis for components to calculate manufacturing costs.

oCreation of prototypes for different components to analyze manufacturability and efficiency.

oDevelopment of industrial plant layout (equipment and workstations).

oCreation of 3D detailed models and rendered photo realistic pictures for marketing purposes.

oResponsible for the creation and management of the electrical, mechanical, civil, architectural and structural layout of our company’s production plant.

Accomplishments:

Created the first 3D model and technical drawings library for heat exchangers products, allowing the company to have a better control above the products characteristics, which improved communication with customers and their understanding of the products.

Created conceptual designs and detailed drawings, analyzed overall dimensions and qualities of their products, helped with development of the business model for the new manufacturing facility.

Helped the company to close the contract of the new manufacturing facilities creating a photo-realistic rendering of current production plant and future expansions used on the company’s presentation to the State, County and City of Bainbridge, GA.

Luvata Juárez (Heatcraft); Draftsman. August 2010 – September 2011.

Tasks:

oResponsible for creating technical drawings to manufacture and assembly coil heat exchangers.

oCreated and checked assembly and individual parts drawings per sketches, customer drawings, descriptions and requests.

oDesigned tools and fixtures for Production and Testing Laboratory.

oPrepared and checked bills of material for newly created or revised drawings.

oAssisted other designers of the department on SolidWorks matters.

Accomplishments:

Helped to develop tools to make the drafting process faster and automated, this saved two thirds of the average time of the drafting process, which positively affected the manufacturing and sales department. This also offered a better understanding of the components, allowing the use of these models for fit, form and function simulations. This was also used as a marketing tool and a better way to communicate and revise the products with the customers.

Trained and assisted the LUVATA OEM Headquarter design department when they implemented SolidWorks as the new design software.
