Plant Superintendent (April 2013-Present)

Manage the Sulfate of Potash plant, a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation with 4 crews and about 50 hourly and salaried employees.

Prepare annual plant budget and production plans and ensure timely and cost efficient execution of plans; consistently achieved the goal of producing 95%-105% of the planned annual production.

Control operations cost (more than $15 MM per year) to minimize cost per ton; achieved the goal of absorbing inflation effects and kept cost per ton from increasing over the past 3 years.

Plan and prioritize long-term capital improvement projects to meet production plans. Capital projects in the past 3 years exceeded $80 MM.

Promote a proactive safety culture built on employees’ engagement that supports company policy; achieved 35% improvement in overall safety metric in the past 3 years.

Identify improvement opportunities and lead teams to implement solutions; lead 26 projects in the past 3 years based on lean six sigma principles resulting in $1.4 MM of annual savings.

Established and manage a periodic review process of all standard operating procedures; use these procedures as the basis for employees’ training and certification.
