Detailed explanation of job description
2016-2017 Al-Ain Hospital - UAE:
This is a highly specialized acute care and emergency hospital with 412 beds and 30 medical departments and divisions.
I worked as a senior pharmacist in outpatient pharmacy. My duties included, but were not limited to:
• Provide integrated high quality and patient centered services
• Enhance primary care delivery
• Enhance patient experience
• Optimize revenue cycle management
• Implement and develop clinical excellence and care coordination
• Improve patient safety through patient counseling 2001-2016 Tawam Hospital in Affiliation with JHM- UAE: This is a 470 bed tertiary care hospital which is accredited by JCAHO and affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine/USA.
In 2001, I started as Hospital Pharmacist in the in-patient and out-patient care areas, duties included participation in the daily work of dispensing in professional and ethical manner, ensured that dispensing and dispensing practices were performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
From 2006 till now I am the narcotic and controlled drug coordinator that provides pharmaceutical and clinical services to all inpatients and outpatients. Other duties include:
• Ensure that the business entity is in compliance with the regulations and guidelines issued with regard to management and use of narcotics and controlled drugs.
• Ensure that all healthcare professionals involved in handling narcotics and controlled drugs are oriented and trained on relevant policies and guidelines.
• Develop, update and implement hospital policies and procedures for the regulation and use of narcotics and controlled drugs.
• Participate in staff education as well as patient counseling with regard to pain management.
• Participate in the training of under/post graduate students/trainees.
• Manage the distribution of narcotics and controlled drugs to hospital nursing units
• Medication re-packaging and compounding
• Inspect on a regular basis all clinical areas stocking narcotics and controlled drugs.
• Participate in quality improvement and process enhancement projects as assigned by management
• Annual estimation of the hospital narcotic forecast

From 2006 – 2009 I was the scheduling supervisor for inpatient and outpatient pharmacies.
