V. VIDEO FILM: PARIS

1995: Conceived, organised, and directed “Meeting of the Minds” a short film about Indian cinema in Paris, an encounter between Mr. Noel Burch, Author and Professor of cinema at University of Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 3, and Mr. Kumar Sahani, an Indian filmmaker and writer with Sylvie Pliskin- a Professor of Cinema in Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 3 and Aravind Appadurai. The film was screened at La Cinematheque Francaise, Paris, France.

VI. CINEMA

a.Film Experience

Kerala

1994: Worked as an assistant in “Ashes and Snow” a film by Gregory Colbert, residing in Paris. The film was nominated for a special prize at the Venice Film Festival in 2007

1990: Participated in the creative consortium of the Script of “Sraadham” (Rites) a film by Dr. V. Rajakrishnan, a Fulbright Scholar, Author of many books on literature and cinema and Emiritus professor at the Institute of English, Kerala University.

1986: Worked with Mr. Raveendran, Film maker, Cultural Critic and Theoretician, in his film “Ore Thooval Pakshikal” (Birds of a feather) which was selected at the Moscow Film Festival and other festivals in 1989. The film bagged Kerala State Award in 1989.

Switzerland

1996: Worked in the post- production unit of “Raison de Coeur”, a Swiss - French - co- production, directed by Mr. Markus Imhoof. He has won many international awards.

b. Film Literature

1986: Worked as the Editor of “Kaazhcha” (Vision), a journal of film theory and aesthetics, published by the “Society for New film Culture”, Kerala.

Switzerland

1995: Participant as an official film festival reporter at the 48th International Film Festival of Locarno, Switzerland; for “Sukrutham” where Jean-Luc Godard has been awarded the Leopard of Honour for his lifetime achievements.

VII. EVENT MANAGEMENT & PUBLIC RELATIONS: Film Society: Kerala

1989- Founder-President of “After Image: The Film People”, an intellectual gymnasium to promote diverse schools of thought in cinema, literature, arts and philosophy.

1985-89: Conducted film appreciation courses, international film retrospectives, seminars and symposia on film aesthetics and “Meet the Director” programmes.

1986: Organised Eisentiens’s sketches and drawings in the College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum and Government Art’s School, Thrissur, Kerala

1985: Founder-President of the “Society for New film Culture” patronised by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

1983: Co-ordinator of “Young Cinics”, an amateur movie makers unit, which conducted workshops on cinema with professionals from film Industry, Kerala.

Paris

1994 - Organised “Kathakali” in Paris, France with the likes of Karunakaran and Nina Parry, both were actors in Peter Brook’s Mahabharata
