Creating an Airfare Database Oct 2017 – Dec 2017
Collected historical airfare/hotel prices from Rest API and gathered weather data through web scraping using R. Tidied data and created an appropriate schema to store tables into SQLite. Utilized queries, plots and statistical analysis in R to show the relationships between airfare, hotel prices and weather conditions Apple Inc. Stock Price Prediction by supervised learning Feb 2017 – Apr 2017
Collected the recent 23 years' economic indicators (such as net sales and gross margin) from Apple's quarterly financial reports, and used "multiple imputation" for missing values. Then decision trees, SVM, KNN and Naïve Bayes were used in R for regression; Modified these techniques (including non-linear kernel and standardizations), and compared their accuracies and time complexity. Mesh-based Monte Carlo Simulation in 3D media May 2016 – May 2017
Directed by Qianqian Fang (Assistant Professor at NEU). Generated a high order tetrahedron mesh and simulated photon for imaging in 3D media (programmed by C compared the solutions of high order tetrahedron and first order (programmed by Matlab) to evaluate their accuracy and time complexity. Competition between Companies by Predator-Prey Model Oct 2016 – Dec 2016
Studied two predator-one prey model with interaction. Several assumptions were made for real competitions. Numerical solutions with different characteristics of the non-linear differential equations were found by Matlab. Analyzed phase portraits and explained the possible trends. Fokker Planck Equation by Finite difference method Sep 2016 – Nov 2016
Identified a solution of stochastic differential equation. Solved by high order Crank-Nicolson and plotted by Matlab. Compared the stability and accuracy with Central difference and Alternating Direction Implicit. Internship Experience
Statistics Bureau in Fengtai, Beijing July 2014 – Sep 2014 Associate Research Assistant
Standardized the data of salary, population, education and employment from citizens in Fengtai; calculated indexes of data such as mean value and increase rate in Microsoft Excel; visualized these data by R; wrote statistics reports to provide data summaries of people’s life in Fengtai.
