PROJECTS
Senior Design Project:
Engineered a proof-of-concept prototype processing block for a portable, automated drug delivery medical device to resolve noncompliance for patients with congestive heart failure (CHF)
•Planned and conducted verification and validation tests to confirm proper device functionality in fulfilling client specifications
•Coordinated check-in meetings with team members to ensure developmental milestones on short deadlines were met
•Developed design timeline documentation, participated in panel design reviews, and contributed to the Design History File (DHF)
•Designed and created Solidworks models for the 3D-printed housing unit
•Wrote a Python script to periodically insert and retrieve patient data from a cloud spreadsheet
•Developed an algorithm and coding scripts to dynamically determine the drug dosage infusion rate
•Reduced bill of materials to 30% under budget through negotiations with vendors
•Gained knowledge of the FDA’s role in regulating and approving medical devices (PMA, 510k)
Additional Projects:
•Constructed a basic microscope to a maximum tolerance of +/-0.2 cm via water jet cutting, 3D printing, and machine shop equipment
•Designed and assembled an Arduino-based intrusion alarm utilizing an ultrasonic sensor, a WiFi shield, a piezo buzzer, and LEDs
•Created Solidworks models of a multi-tool and performed stress/failure analysis to identify points of weaknesses
•Designed an electrospun nanofiber scaffold to promote peripheral nerve regeneration beyond the natural threshold of 10 mm by proposing a controlled-release mechanism of growth factors and ECM proteins
