Work Experience
Organization: Cutera, inc ( Sep 2017- Present)
Designation: Quality Assurance engineer.
Generated RMA (Return Merchandize authorization) reports by inspecting the products as per the test plans.
Updating all the NCR’s, RMA’s and other Quality reports into the database using Salesforce.
Led a cross functional team for initiating 5S into the company and achieved significant results.
Led an internal audit in the company and made sure the Quality standards are met by all the departments.
Performed Capability studies using Minitab and MS Excel.
Executed Statistical analysis using Minitab to draw X-bar, R-charts and determined the values of Cpk and Ppk.
Performed Keen Operation analysis using DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze Improve Control) methodology to identify areas that are ripe for Cost and Cycle time reduction.
Identified the controlling factors by implementing Fish-Bone diagram and determined the stability of processes using Control charts.
Assisted in performing Pareto analysis and identified top 5 defects which contributes around 70% of the total defects and appropriate actions were taken to reduce them.
Organization: Econtenti, inc ( Jul 2016- Sep 2017 )
Designation: Quality Assurance engineer.
Performed detailed analysis of returned customer parts and used findings to drive Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) improvements.
Employed 4M analysis practice for complex quality issues within the development of various components.
Implemented Six Sigma methodologies such as Design of Experiment, risk assessment, process FMEA, cause and effect studies to successfully troubleshoot factory failures and field returns.
Participated in process failure mode and effect analysis (PFMEA) investigations directed at specific operational and throughput improvements.
Led and facilitate process improvement teams providing Lean tools such as process flow charts, Value Stream Mapping, basic statistics, control charts, and Lean Daily Management (LDM).
Used 8D (5 why, Fishbone), DMAIC & Lean methods to address high scrap issues and to improve efficiency of processes.
Liaison reports were examined to identify the major customer issues using DPPM and IPPM charts and the same were addressed to Operators.
Modified an assembly line using Poka Yoke (Mistake Proofing) that improved quality and improved productivity on the assembly line by 43%.
Implemented 5S and waste walk programs and instituted audits to ensure sustainment.
Prepared PPAP documents; Control Plan, Flow Charts, Process Drawings, PSW's and PFMEA's. Interacted with suppliers for Quality feedback on product changes and provided technical assistance.
Organization: Lanco Industries Pvt. Ltd, India ( May 2012- Aug 2014 )
Designation: Junior Quality engineer.
Lead cross functional teams through the 8D process to identify the root cause of failures in the ductile iron pipes and provided over 30 8D reports to multiple customers and initiated 11 corrective actions.
Utilized SPC to monitor the current production process by performing Capability studies to detect and minimize the significant variations.
Examined the Control plans to ensure that process requirements and expectations were visible for all functional areas.
Developed Quality Alerts and Visual Aids for the operators to address the critical customer concerns.
Product Trail Runs (PTR) were performed on the ductile iron pipes to support the Engineering Changes and the results were analyzed for better Product or Process Development.
Analyzed the Gage Design to make sure it addresses all the Critical and Significant Characteristics (CC &SC) of the product.
Academic projects
Course: Lean Six Sigma
Title: “Implementing the lean six- sigma frame work in a die castings manufacturing industry.”
Led statistical analysis on die castings rejections and traced the main reasons for its rejections.
Developed the rejection control techniques by dissecting the rejection data, pareto charts and the fish bone diagrams (Cause and Effect).
By distinguishing the major defects, discovered the root causes and actualized continuous improvement to minimize the overall rejections rate, utilizing the Lean six- sigma principles and DMAIC theory.
Course: Deterministic Optimization
Title: “Minimization of costs in mobile phone manufacturing and transportation using Optimization Techniques”
Led a group of 4 in developing the linear programming algorithms for the logistics, inventory control and transportation in a Mobile Phone manufacturing industry.
It helped in the optimization of the production costs, quality and the transportation costs using real time data to determine efficient investment plan.
Course: Digital Automation
Title: “Productivity improvement through automation in Diary industry.”
One of the Dairy factories in India uses a conventional conveyor system in stacking up bottles in the packaging system.
Our team’s idea is to propose a new method that will change the way the bottles are stacked up in the carton.
Our idea consists of designing an actuator system that pushes and stacks up the bottles to the packaging section. This proposal will reduce the time taken to stack and package the bottles.
