Curriculum Vita

I bring to any governmental, legal or healthcare organization over thirty years of clinical and managerial experience, eight years as an Adjunct Professor teaching healthcare related subjects and an extensive background in allied medical use in a clinical setting. I have taught courses in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, forensics, healthcare policy, application and implementation and have been a speaker for the New York City Department of Health.

I maintain a cash based practice so I have no bias for or against insurance companies and there make an excellent expert witness or utilization reviewer

My doctorate is in chiropractic, along with a master’s degree in public service (governmental service and non-profits), and have a bachelor’s degree in business management. Since 2009, I have been a professor of anatomy, physiology, nutrition and basic science. Additionally I have been a speaker for the NYC Department of Health and an expert witness for JAMS and ARC and have worked with healthcare policy and its implementation in Brooklyn on a community level. Since 2009, I have been an Adjunct Professor at Touro College teaching various classes including anatomy (undergraduate and graduate), physiology, biology, nutrition and laboratory courses (both virtual and cadaver dissection). I have also taught, at Berkley College, allied healthcare classes, healthcare management, medical policy, medical terminology, medical ethics, addiction, and forensics. At Touro College, I have an academic review ranking of approximately 4.7 on a 5-point scale. I am familiar with relevant education computer-based programs such as Blackboard. As a chiropractor, I have extensive clinical experience with over 250,000 patient visits, both in a clinical as well as in a private patient setting. I developed the BORT (Berman Oral Relaxation Therapy), a system to treat and help sleep apnea and TMJ cases. I have an eclectic style of practice and incorporate various chiropractic styles and also draw upon Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), massage and soft tissue, ergonomics, personal training among many others. I have worked as a public speaker on healthcare initiatives for the NYC Department of Health, and I am very familiar with the needs of culturally diverse and minority populations.
