Aligned all plant managers with a new strategic process for safety, to focus on unity at all facilities and doing autonomous safety activities.
Lowered the TRIR to 0.79 from 9.96 using aggressive training for hourly, supervisor and plant managers in hazard recognition, OSHA compliance and SMAT’s (safety management training systems) along with risk assessments on all job related activities. Leading to “ZERO” IR culture.

Spearheaded the writing and implementing a new safety/environmental culture for 9 facilities in 5 states. Including: TS 16949, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001. Completed within 9 months of implementation cycle.
Directed and oversaw the clean-up and disposal of contaminated ground and ground water from a nickel contamination from the chrome operation facility, worked with TOSHA during this mitigation to lessen the overall fine from $2,700,000 to less than $750,000.
Co-directed the start-up of a new transit bus manufacturing facility in Anniston, AL. Worked with local hiring agencies and the State of Alabama to start 6 week Certified Welder training program at no cost to the Company. Facilitated and directed the use of 100 ton cranes for movement of bus frames. Hired all CWI’s for the process as well as acquiring welding machines and equipment.
