Interest & Activities
I seek my solace in the great outdoors. My children and I enjoy horseback riding, camping, hiking, and fishing. Every spring and summer I enjoy working in my garden. At harvest times I can be found in the kitchen canning the rewards of our hard work. I love to cook and have found that making homemade bread is an excellent way to relieve any stress in the winter months. My pastimes are spent with a good book and a hot cup of coffee. I indulge my creative side by writing short fiction stories and poetry.
Volunteer Experience
Christian Fellowship Academy 865-***-****
For my senior project I developed the Road to Reading Readiness Program which is still used by the school to this day. I completely developed this Pre-Kindergarten Program and selected the curriculum to implement. I arrived at the campus early every day to make sure that everything was perfect for the children before they arrived. Each day was a rewarding experience as I watched the children become stronger readers. I taught this class for six years after graduation and this allowed me to teach the program to the students that were interested in continuing the program.
I also assisted the Guidance Counselor for seven years. This was a very rewarding experience for me. I assisted students in college and scholarship searches. I was able to talk with students and help them with their problems. I was given the opportunity to warn them of the signs, patterns, and cycles of abusive behaviors.
