SKILLS PROFILE:

Pre-operative preparation skills include: organized, independent and professional surgical technologist with excellent skills comunications. Selecting the right equipment, create a sterile field in the room, using proper technique when opening sterile supplies, back table and mayo stand organization and set up, perform necessary counts and label all medications properly, assist circulating nurse and/or anesthetist with any patient care needs within scope of practice.

Intra-operative procedural skills include: work well muti-tasking and under pressure,proper draping technique, connect and pass of all correct equipment and cords needed for the procedure, pass and retrieve sharps in a safe and efficient manner, ensure medications are labeled and announced to surgeon before use, maintain all the instruments and supplies organized on the back table and Mayo stand, maintain sterility in the procedure and change gowns and gloves if is required during the procedure, count everything at the end of the procedure including sutures, instruments and supplies, applies sterile dressings.

Post-operative procedural skills include: break down of sterile field, disposes all the equipment properly such as sharps, cameras, instruments, towels and all non-use and one-use items. Assists with efficient room turn over.

EXPERIENCE:

-Completed 200 cases as a first scrub and second scrub from February 2016 to March 2017 at Baptist Medical Center, North Central Baptist Hospital and Mission Trials Baptist Hospital.

-Completed rotations in the following surgical specialties:
