At Delphi in Fitzgerald GA. We manufacture automotive and
marine batteries for several sales lines. I am the third shift
maintenance supervisor. My responsibilities include, overseeing
and scheduling the maintenance department as well as the production
areas of the plant on third shift. There were nine production areas
running on the third shift . The nine operating department are
injection molding, X-met, Oxide, Lead strip, Cast on strap, DR,
green group. Formation and final assembly. I was directly
responsible for the implementation of a preventative maintenance
system, scrap reduction, uptime improvement, supervising the hourly
employees, and handling any disciplinary issues that,may arise. In
my time at Delphi, I have been in charge of every department in the
plant at one time or another. I have also been General foreman over
second shift directly supervising 130 employees. I have also been a
front line supervisor in each department on each shift supervising
between 15 and 65 employees. I was on of the most flexible and
innovative supervisor in the plant. I have received two bonuses for
timely completion of projects and goals achievement and another
for meeting financial goals. I have risen from a department supervisor
to a shift supervisor to a maintenance supervisor. My responsibilities
and compensation have grown with each assignment. I left Delphi be
because this company filed bankruptcy.
Work Jan 2001-May 2001 CLS ( Chattanooga Labeling Systems)
experience Production Supervisor
At CLS I was the supervisor of the “B” shift . On this shift we operated
up to three PSL lines, two decoration shops, and the drill line. The
PSL line is an automated system for the labeling of bottles for various
Customers. The decoration shops apply a heat reactive paint to
glassware and load them into a curing oven. The drill line drills and
spigots sun tea jars for Alltrista. My responsibilities include,
maintaining a consistently improving production rate, tracking and
reporting the production rates. Tracking and reporting the attendance
and performance of the employees, handling consequential
terminations or transfers, directing the efforts of the work force, and
the redesign of the drill line. The redesign of the drill line is to
minimize loss due to breakage and to reduce the floor space required
and maximize productivity. I left CLS to pursue an opportunity offered
to my by MSXI with Delphi in Fitzgerald GA.

Experience Coach (Production Supervisor)
At OMC we manufactured all Johnson and Evinrude outboard engines.
I hired into OMC as a coach, their version of a production supervisor.
While there, I was responsible for the power head department. We
assembled the engines and mount them on the lower unit. My
responsibilities included: maintaining the production rate, maintaining
quality improvements, attendance, employee direction and placement
of new hires. My employment ended there due to corporate
bankruptcy.

Experience Production Supervisor
My last role at C&D was the second shift production supervisor
for the facility. I managed the entire second shift, which consisted
of three departments. The departments were a sheet metal fabrication
department and two assembly departments. My responsibilities include
maintaining the production of the three departments, tracking the
attendance of the hourly employee, resolving any interpersonal conflicts
that arose, maintaining consistent quality improvements, maintaining
safety, and implementing Lean Manufacturing throughout all
departments. Before my transfer to second shift, I was responsible
for two departments on first shift. In the those two departments I was
responsible for continuous process improvements which lead to
traveling to different companies to observe and implement new ideas
inside of C&D as well as the regular duties of the supervisory role.
While in this role on first shift, I was also responsible for all interviews
Of anyone entering into my production areas to insure that they would
Be a valuable contribution to our team. I left C&D to pursuer a job
offer that was made to me by OMC.

My responsibilities while being a Lead Person include: all
prototype activities in the department, implementing Lean
manufacturing technique, steering the department in the direction
desired by the company, resolving differences between employees,
maintaining the production of the department, promoting an
environment of teamwork in the department, and reviewing the
performance of the other employees. These responsibilities seem
to be to numerous for a lead person but I did not have an immediate
supervisor sand answered directly to the manufacturing manger.

home repair and improvement business. I specialized in plumbing and
electrical work but I also do carpentry, drywall, and carpet and linoleum
installation. I turned over control of my business to younger brother to
