EMPHASIS: GEOCHEMISTRY- HYDROLOGY, PLANETARY SCIENCE & PETROLEUM ENGINEERING
-Master’s Thesis: Geological Modeling in GIS for Petroleum Reservoir Characterization and Engineering: A 3D GIS-assisted Geostatistics Approach. Results: Reservoir model to map geological properties, numerical model to simulate reservoir production, determined source & physical processes of hydrocarbon fluids, parameterized reservoir to integrate dynamic data. Implications: Integrate engineering with geology using GIS and optimize multidisciplinary solutions to improve resource management.
-Master’s Thesis: Determining groundwater quality, source, age and mixing dynamics of a volcanic aquifer in Quito, Ecuador. Results: Solutions for the assessment of hydrogeochemical processes affecting volcanic aquifers, quantification and optimization of water resources, evaluation of natural hazards and improvement of public health in Quito, Ecuador.
-Senior Thesis: Geochemical Evidence of Extraterrestrial Impact Layers: Noble Gases and Trace Elements in Meteorites and Suspected Meteorite Sediments. Results: Provided implications for the assessment of the transport mechanisms and retention of extraterrestrial gases and compounds as well as the environmental consequences of meteor/comet impacts. Specific Research Capabilities: Measurement, imaging and analyses of isotopic, elemental, molecular, ionic and structural components using geological, chemical, optical, geophysical/remote sensing & spatial analysis techniques.
