Brief Overview I have worked as a creative director, business owner and full
stack developer in New York, Vancouver and Los Angeles. Highlights include:
n Overseeing the design and production of all marketing materials for Herbalife’s $25 million launch into the Russian market. n As creative director for Doubleday Publishing I was instrumental in promoting 200+ books per year. I worked on titles by such authors as John Grisham, Michael Jackson and Stephen King.
n Owning my own design agency for 8 years in New York producing work for such clients as Iona College, Macy’s, NatWest Bank USA and Berlitz. In 2004 my partner and I started Happytails Canine Spa Line. The company produced high end grooming and health products for dogs. From branding, sales, product development and accounting, I was intimately involved in every aspect of creating and nurturing the business. We started as a scribble on a napkin and 8 years later, when we sold the business, we had annual revenue of over $3 million. Our products were sold in PetSmart, 3000+ smaller stores in the US and in 16 countries around the world. After selling our company in 2012 both my partner and I were retained as consultants focusing on digital marketing. At the time of sale one third of total revenue came through our 5 web sites. I was the webmaster for all 5 sites. They were hosted individually on their own URL’s but I created a single Netsuite shopping cart and checkout so that customers could shop and buy all 5 brands seamlessly. This increased sales by 20%.
We also developed weekly e-mail, social media and advertising programs to promote the lines. I was also responsible for “Save our Shelter”, the web site for a Saturday morning TV show that was owned by our buyers and updated with clips, quotes and information on a weekly basis.

My partner and I launched the company in 2004 to take advantage of the rapidly expanding high end pet market. Our first 4 years saw 100% growth year over year. Throughout the life of the company our business model rested upon three “pillars”; trade shows, international and domestic distribution and web based wholesale and consumer sales.
I was responsible for setting up the entire design and production facility for the company. I screened and hired designers and production people. Helped to install a tracking system and data base to ensure the smooth flow and regular archiving of jobs. Our department worked closely with both the CEO and a marketing department of 12 marketing managers.
I was ultimately responsible for all graphic material produced by the company. This included corporate identity, packaging, annual reports, trade show graphics, advertising, marketing and web site development. I ran a department of 8 full time people and 12 freelancers. We also regularly employed a variety of outside studio’s photographers and writers.
