“B Nnn5 My husband opened an automotive shop. I worked with him in the shop until he passed away. I worked as office manager, dealing with customers as they come in writing repair orders with instructions on problem with vehicle. Gave repair orders to the service technician to check out. Priced up repairs needed and called customers with price and what is needed for the car, ordered parts needed and dealt with parts drivers.
Called customers when car was finished and took payments, credit card, cash or check.
Closed out tickets for the day. Handled sales tax reports, and entered tickets into the accounting program.

Started out typing insurance certificates for customers. I filled in on the phone for lunch.
Moved on to Truck Brokers Policies. Adding trucks for Brokers and sending certificates for the Truck owners. Ran drivers license report and credit check as well for the company requesting the insurance.

Worked in area office with Area Vice President, area rental manager, area sales manager and area maintenance manager.
Our area was in charge of 19 district offices. One of my duties was to compile a report each month from all 19 districts into a progress report for the area vice president to send to his Regional Manager in Atlanta, GA. I was in charge of setting all meetings for the districts for the area office meetings once every 3 months I was in charge of setting hotel reservations, menus for the meals and covering the office for the Area Office Managers to be out. I was in charge of trouble shooting problems in the districts and coming to a conclusions for the problem. I set up the word processors for the area office and the district office. Helped out the district sales manager before he hired a secretary in typing his proposals, and all had to be originals not photo copies. We sponsored the GGO Golf tournament each year in Greensboro, NC so did a lot to help with the tickets to customers. I interviewed the new secretary prospect for the district office and administered her tests for employment.

Morehead High School in Eden, NC.
My courses were business courses, typing and office machines, where I learned to use a calculator by touch as well as typing. I type 65 or so words per minute
Took word processor training when they came in.
