Objective: Suitable position as Dialysis Technician
I am basically a Dialysis Technician with 12 years of experience from the starting of my carrier. I have a wide range of experience in handling different types of dialysis units. My job description includes Patient Care, Medical Care, Process and Quality and Staff & Facility Management. Also capable of handling Speciality Cases as mentioned below.
Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Care:
• Maintain the record of each patient with pre-dialysis vital signs, weight and temperature.
• Inspect the patients Dialysis access, administer local anesthesia if required; insert needles, and initiate dialysis
• Monitor and record the patient condition and coordinate with superiors
• Administer anticoagulant according to unit protocol and prescription.
• Blood flow adjustment based on the instruction
•Adjust fluid removal.
• Discontinue dialysis and established homeostasis following unit protocol.
• Inspect, clean and dress access according to unit protocol.
• Follow post dialysis protocol (vital signs, temperature and weight)
• Responds to dialysis related emergencies ( such as hypotensive episodes, needle displacement or infiltration, clotting episodes, blood leaks, air emboli, etc.)
• CPR therapy in the event of cardiac arrest.
• Coordinating with superiors and meeting patient education goals.
• Managing the patient during emotional, medical, psychosocial and nutritional concerns and coordinating with superiors.
• Maintain professional conduct, good communication skills and confidentiality in the care of patients.
Medical Care:
• Prepare dialyzer
• Prepare the dialysis extracorporeal circuit
• Verify the absence of residual sterilants.
• Testing, monitoring and functions of the dialysis unit, including alarms, conductivity and temperature.
• Maintain the record document
• Discarding procedure of dialysis supplies and sanitize equipment.
• Monitoring and recording of RO water readings.
Process and Quality:
• Update patient vitals and dialysis data in Electronic Medical Reports and/ or specific files for current and future reference.
• Ensure adherence to hospital standards and other relevant quality standards in all processes.
Staff and Facility Management:
• Assist Teammates in preparing patient schedules.
• Training new team mates for preparing, monitoring and maintaining dialysis machines and system.
Monitor all the staff whether they are following the unit protocol if, not, report to the Unit -in- charge.
• Ensure that reprocessing / dilutions etc. are done according to unit procedures and protocol.
• Ensure the facilities are provided for emergency resuscitation.
• To maintain the minimum stock in the emergency trolley.
• Check the emergency trolley on a daily basis and ensure all the items are available.
• Ensure overall hygiene and waste management process, as per protocol.
