Personal Skills:

I have a deep hunger and persistence to learn more and to become better at everything that I do. I’m a hard worker who meets every problem with enthusiasm and tenacity. When I begin a job I don’t quit until it is finished.

As a creative problem solver, I am comfortable working independently against broad objectives that necessitates critical and abstract thinking.

I enjoy working together with people, and work efficiently in a team environment by using a positive attitude to engage others.

I am a natural leader, but have much to learn. I am hungry to both prove myself, and to take in as much knowledge and mentoring as possible.

Experience

Awards

Safeway, Englewood, CO, Clerk and Customer Service 2012-2015

Was hired at Safeway during my time in high school. I was responsible for taking checking out customers, taking calls, and handling customer’s returns and concerns. I was the front line for customer inquiries, and became skilled at active listening, as well as dealing with customers. I worked closely with my boss and learned the ropes quickly. I learned effective ways to compartmentalize problems, and find creative solutions to broad objectives. Ultimately I turned down the position after looking to pursue higher education.

Kaiser Permanente, Aurora, CO, Volunteer and Shadowing Summer of 2015

Worked directly with one of the heads of a Kaiser Permanente, Terry Richardson. The organization was mostly centered on medical opportunities for aspiring undergraduates. I gained firsthand experience with tasks like taking vitals for patients, filling forms, and the skills that come with helping underprivileged communities with their health. I learned how to promote the health and knowledge to a large number of people.

St. Luke’s Church, Spokane, WA, Tutor 2015-Present

A unique opportunity was offered to me during January of 2016. I was recruited to be a tutor for lower income elementary kids and to help with their homework while also bonding and being a mentor for them. This has honestly been one of my most treasured jobs just based on the amount of life-changing experiences that the kids taught to me. I learned how powerful words can be and how important caring and listening can affect a person’s life.

Whitworth University, Spokane, WA, BUCS Bridge Coordinator Summer of 2016

In the summer of 2016, I was offered the invaluable opportunity to coordinate a bridging program for first generation and minority students coming into Whitworth. I was helped with two other students but headed the program. Under the tutelage of David Garcia and Shawn Washington who work in the ISC, I was tasked with the logistics of a four day program that scheduled right before school. I learned the importance of communication and working in a cohesive and positive team environment. With so much freedom provided, I grew in my professional abilities of planning a meticulous day to day itinerary that is both knowledgeable and enjoyable.

Whitworth University, Spokane, WA, Chemistry Department 2016-2018

Was hired during the start of my junior year of college. I worked in the Chemistry stockroom. During my off time at school I help students in their preparation for Chemistry Lab. I work at the front desk and utilize my knowledge of chemistry to help in many forms. My job is very hands on and teaches me the importance of precision and accuracy on a daily routine.

Rockwood Nursing Home, Spokane, WA, Alzheimer Assistant 2016-2017

As the Vice President and Treasurer of the Alzheimer’s Club, I began working with Alzheimer patients in their 70’s. The board of the club worked with about six students and partnered with Rockwood Nursing Home. I frequently assisted with tasks and provided the patients with quality one on one time. Through this opportunity I have gained a world of insight pertaining to meaningful conversations with all walks of life. An hour conversation with someone who feels like they have lost everything including their memory has been impactful for them and even more so me.

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, WA, Medical Scribe 2018-Present

Working in the emergency department as a scribe has been one of the most difficult and most rewarding opportunities. The majority of my duties surround following a physician and recording the medical dictations that the physician or patient may present. The job is very demanding of speed, accuracy, and being able to high stress situations. My position in the emergency room has accelerated my knowledge of medical terms and has equipped me with critical thinking and efficiency skills that I know will be valuable going forward in life
