Managed Steeltec from startup to $13 million, during 11-year tenure. At JBE, productivity, quality and delivery improvements rocketed its growth from $9 to $40 million in 3 years, increasing customer base with Honda, Cummins, CDC and Sonoco Paper.

Managed New Part Introduction (NPI) process quality improvements, including ISO9001-2000/2008 and TS16949 audits and certifications. Honda PPM down from 78,300 to less than 100 monthly, Cummins PPM attained zero for first 3 months and remained low, with customer score carding. High volume VMI with Sonoco Paper, Honda and Cummins (3 to 8 day complete inventory turns, all customers)

CONSULTANT: Five separate 9-month Automotive Tier 1 Supplier contracts were completed. Each contract differed for needs, but covered Lean Installation, Takt Time settings, NPI guidance, Safety guidance, OSHA compliance with Lean directions and assistance.

PLANT MANAGER: Position required acquisition, relocation, training and startup of a near depleted cost center woodworking machinery manufacturing company. Hired all production staffing, serviced or repaired all production equipment after relocation including robotics, CNC machinery, stamping presses, air/electric automated assembly systems and the powder paint system due to previous owner’s lack of maintenance. Production demands achieved from startup in 6 months under budget. Surpassed expected goals early.

PLANT MANAGER: All TIER 1 production, engineering, training, EDI (Honda), ERP use (Made-2-Manage), plant layout, scheduling workload, producing to daily demand schedules for Honda, and safety of a TIER 1 supplier to Honda, Cummins and CDC of Sub-Assembled parts to a JIT schedule of 3.2 million assembled units, APQP, PPAP, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for Sonoco Paper Corporation, all high volume team driven lean concepts. Facility growth was from 40,000 sq. ft. @ $9MM sales to 360,000 sq. ft. @ $40MM sales/capacity in three-year period. Rapid growth rate required many budgetary changes. CI processes incorporated.

PLANT MANAGER: All Production, Engineering, Scheduling, Staffing, Quality Control, Maintenance, Shipping & Receiving of upscale mailroom sorter systems, including “top-of-the-line” PLC track controlled metal and wood shelving units and custom high-end office furniture of metal or fine woods. Position required Certification & installation of Lean Manufacturing from Mass Production, ERP installation and Salvaginni automated folding system installation, CNC routers and Komo milling machines, edge-banders, PLC saws, PLC panel saws and jointers for increased productivity.
