EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

I started my apprenticeship on the 2nd February 1975 with a company by the name of ‘Clow’s Peugeot’ in Johannesburg. I had just left school to start an apprenticeship and I was 16yrs old. During the year of July 1976 to 1977, I was drafted into the army, to which I served my national training, thereafter, I returned to continue my, then 2nd/3rd year apprenticeship. In 1979 I had moved to Benoni and was therefore transferred to a company called, ‘Princess Garage.’ (a Volkswagen Dealership) to complete my training and to qualify. On the 23rd March 1981, I became qualified and was issued my “A” card, number A91828.

I relocated to Johannesburg and joined a company, ‘Mc Duling Motors,’ (Volkswagen) in March 1981 and worked there till June 1988, when I received a better offer at ‘Wadeville Fleet Services,’ doing all make of vehicles, and starting July 1988 to October 1993, when I decided to start my own business. I had been self employed form November 1993 through March 2005, when my business collapsed and was forced to find work elsewhere.

I found work with a company, ‘Brake, Clutch and gearbox’ in April 2005 and served as the workshop manager for them until March 2007, I relocated to Pretoria, when again, I received a better offer form a company in Kempton Park called ‘Protec Auto.’ Being a Bosch Franchise, I leaped to the offer. I served with them as a mechanic, doing all make of vehicles. I served with them from April 2007 to December 2009. I resigned my position and left the company after the loss of my eldest son to suicide on the 24th October 2009 and was in need of counselling. Subsequently, I was unemployed until I was offered a part time job with, ‘The Extra Mile,’ a company very similar to Bosch, and worked there for a few months.

O.E. Bosch car service in Alrode South, offered me a job and I accepted. Unfortunately, the travelling became a problem for me and was forced to leave. The S.A.P.S. had a vacancy for a year’s contract, of which I accepted. The contract ended December 2l013. Since then, I had been employed at, a Bosch car service, in Johannesburg, but am now currently unemployed.

I am a hard worker and of sober habits, I am trustworthy, loyal and punctual to the companies that I work for and very seldom skip a day’s work, other than been very ill.
