Personal statement

A recent 2:1 media and communication graduate honours at the University of East London, looking to secure a graduate media and communications position or similar to utilise my current creativity skills and also help me to further develop these skills in a practical and fast-paced environment. My eventual career goal is to work in an environment that challenges me to continue to learn more and expose myself not only to the media world but other sectors that challenges me, enables me to contribute to the business with my creativity and passion so succeed in everything that I do.

(December 2017- Present) Part Time

As a station assistant I was mainly providing vital support for the station, which included the planning, research. I also contributed to the production work for the station such as videography, social media, photography, events, and blogging. I recently joined them and became their broadcast assistant for the Jade Mathews show every Saturday from 1-4pm.

Duties includes:

Updating the programme or station website and ensuring that the on-air and online content are the same

Undertaking general research for programmes & administrative duties

Arranging and overseeing guest visits and freelance staff

Maintaining up-to-date contact lists

Producing transcripts, programme logs, running orders & recording programme costs

Preparing contracts and payments for guests and contributors

Archiving past programmes, booking resources, facilities, studio time and equipment

This two-week course was for learners who are seeking an opportunity to step inside the UK’s fastest growing medium – radio. I got the opportunity to develop my production skills for radio including understating job roles, studio operation, recording and editing audio, interviewing, presenting and show planning. I also got an insight into how to develop my radio ideas across visual and digital platforms. As a group we was all able to record our own links, features, donuts and edits them using adobe audition.

Hobbies & Interests

My main passions are radio and travelling. I was the producer of the radio club during my time at university, and during this period I organised a number of very successful events both on and off campus and took on full responsibility on the final out put of each show. I have a keen interest in social media, experiences life and different cultures and Film Making. I don’t have a favourite movie, however if I had to choose it would have to be between The Godfather and Avatar.
