Well Planning Engineer

Evaluate preliminary and current well data to develop and modify directional well profile plans in conjunction with Operations Coordinators and client representatives such as drilling superintendents, engineers& geologists.

Analyze proposals in relation to offset well information in order to advise coordinators and / or clients of potential problems or possible improvements.

Create anti-collision reports and monitor center-to-center distances as well as separation factors for real-time close-approach drilling situations.

Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Maintain survey database regularly for on-going wells; generate plan vs. actual drawings for clients / coordinators as requested; prepare final ''as drilled'' plot.

Prepare morning surveys and updates, distribute to client representatives, marketing representatives, and Operations Coordinators.

Proactively, identify, address, and resolve issues/problems as or before they occur

Work closely with coordinators, directional drillers, MWD operators, and client representatives to ensure job requirements are being met & perform a feedback service for field personnel, for the purpose of addressing down-hole issues and problems as they develop.

Provide declination & grid convergence data for MWD and verify that it is consistent with appropriate regulatory documentation.

Execute continuous hydrocarbon monitoring to ensure total hydrocarbon detection.

Provide Chromatographic Gas Analysis (c1 - c8) + (CO2) to achieve the best possible separation performance and essential oil analysis.

Initiate computer generated, comprehensive hydrocarbon log, provide all hydrocarbon data in LAS or ASCII format, and transmit all data from Well site to Continental’s Hub system.

Implement rig-up, rig- down and routine maintenance and calibration programs as instructed by operations.

Monitor all sensors for variations from expected readings.
