Beginning with assignment as Industrial Buyer in Port Newark DC, was responsible for all non-merchandise procurement related to store operations, new store openings & remodel efforts.

Promoted to National HQ in 1997.

Conceptualized the outsourcing of all supply replenishment direct to store through increasingly sophisticated ordering systems. Selected a vendor partner which was acquired by Staples in 1999 and became Staples National Advantage division that provides this service to hundreds of retail and corporate customers. Achieved multi-million dollar savings during first two years of program.

Collaborated with many cross functional teams to consolidate spend across divisions and reduce “Maverick” spend. Instituted sourcing programs to support spend reduction goals and in support of TRU’s Concept 2000 new store & remodel program. Served as “Relationship Manager” between Procurement, Store Planning teams and vendor community for this $40 million+ program.

Worked closely with Product Development, Risk Management, Legal, Construction and Distribution/Logistics to facilitate process from contract development through to on-time delivery.
