Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – iGen Mortgage Inc. (Aug 2017 – Feb 2018)

Responsible for all financial operations of start-up company including setting up a payroll system, hiring a PEO, health insurance enrollment, employee handbook, safety manual and all human resources functions; implementation of industry specific accounting software; creating a chart of accounts and preparing GAAP based financial statements. Company closed due to lack of revenue.

Senior Manager, Finance & Operations – Pacific Communications (Division of Allergan) (Jan 2017 – Aug 2017)

Responsible for monthly financial statements, budgeting and financial planning for in-house advertising agency for Allergan. Had 2 direct reports and 5 indirect. Division had over 240 employees and contractors and yearly gross revenues of $10 million. Left company for opportunity with iGen Mortgage.

Senior Accountant – Radley Financial Services, Inc. and Hall & Company CPAs (Feb 2005- May 2008; Aug 2015 –Jan 2017)

Responsible for preparing and reviewing GAAP financial statements and tax returns for all types of entities, including Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, LLCs, Trusts and Individuals. Clients are primarily small to medium sized businesses that require tax return preparation, bookkeeping services and financial advice. Company sold to Hall & Company Jan 2016. Left company for Allergan position.

Controller – Tenacore Holdings Inc. (Dec. 2007 – June 2016) – Division sold – using outside CPA

Responsible for the financial reporting, budgeting, GAAP accounting, cash management, insurance, contract review and human resources for a $10+ million per year medical device manufacturer and service company and 6 related entities. Directly supervised 5 employees. Obtained new financing for purchases of equipment, a building and the purchase of 2 companies after doing due diligence. Involved in the subsequent sale of one of the companies at 5 times the original purchase price. Responsible for all returns of sales/use tax, excise tax and income tax. Responsible for HR including payroll, benefits and renewal of all insurance policies. Brought in a PEO in 2015 which resulted in savings of $100,000 per year.

Conference Planners LLC, VP, Finance & Administration) (2000-2004)

Responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, cash management, contract review and human resources for a $100+ million per year service company. Directly supervised 12 employees. Responsible for the implementation of a new accounting system in 2001 for both the US and UK entities. Set-up/documented proper GAAP accounting procedures and proper separation of duties plus grew the accounting department by adding 4 people in 2000 in the US and 4 people in the UK over a 2-year period.

Supervised transition from separate company (Conference Planners LLC) to division of George P. Johnson Company in January 2004 including changes in policies/procedures; all benefits programs; duties/responsibilities for employees in other departments and adding new software modules. Worked directly with major clients – Cisco Systems, Oracle & PeopleSoft in the US and Europe. Managed onsite temporary staff of up to 200 people who were trained to collect payments and print badges.

Vice President, Finance & Controller – Aircraft Service International Group (1999-2000)

Responsible for all GAAP financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, cash management and computer data management for a $100+ million per year service company. The Company had publicly traded bonds, so SEC work was required. Responsible for a complete redesign of the chart of accounts and successful implementation of new software within a 3-month period. Obtained new financing for equipment purchases/leases. Had 25-person accounting department reporting thru 5 direct reports. Worked on potential acquisitions before leaving company for new position with Conference Planners.

Chief Financial Officer, Elsinore LP & Martin Aviation LP - William Lyon (1994 – 1999)

Responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, cash management, payroll and computer data management for a $15 million per year Service Company. Instituted new controls in accounting department and converted to an outside payroll service (700 employees with weekly payroll). Obtained new accounts receivable and equipment financing at a lower interest rate. Turned company around from a large loss position to marketable status by negotiating discounts, payment plans, new financing and collecting/billing receivables on a timely basis. Owner (William Lyon) decided to sell the companies (Martin Aviation to AMR Combs in 1996 and Elsinore to ASIG in 1999). Key member involved directly in the sales negotiations for both companies and was hired by the purchaser on the last sale.

Assistant Treasurer - Responsible for relationships with various banks including obtaining loans for new residential construction projects and land development. Worked through loan restructures with Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Continental Bank, Chase Manhattan, First Interstate and others. Position of trust with Owner resulted in promotion to Chief Financial Officer of sister companies, Elsinore LP and Martin Aviation LP.

Tax Manager, Deloitte Haskins & Sells (1981 – 1987)

Responsible for reviewing tax returns, tax research and planning. Represented clients in front of the Internal Revenue Service and Franchise Tax Board. Major clients included the Segerstrom Family (South Coast Plaza), Barratt American, Bear Medical and W. R. Grace Development.
