SUMMARY
Skilled, experienced Mechanical Designer / Drafter, with proven expertise in SolidWorks, PTC CREO (Pro/Engineer), AutoCAD Inventor, Excel, PowerPoint.
I can demonstrate effective skills in mechanical design and 3-D modeling and rapid prototyping. Responsible for creative elements of design (via marketing inputs), from concept generation, to design, rapid prototyping, production samples and final product outputs. I have a creative, focused, disciplined and results orientated attitude while working within demanding, fast paced manufacturing environments.
EXPERIENCE
CHEMENCE INC., Alpharetta, GA November, 2012 – October, 2017
Mechanical Designer / Quality Control
Chemence manufactures products for industrial, consumer and medical industry use meeting exacting quality requirements of companies like Johnson & Johnson and 3M Company.
Duties included:
Design and modeling product applicators, from rapid prototyping, through mold making and final production.
Designed and then produced detailed component and assembly drawings and BOMs for a Slitter Machine for graphics industry to improve productivity;
Researched and then developed a Medical Glue Dispenser for Surgeons use in medical applications.
Created workflow layout and designed Vacuum Impregnation Lines for major Automotive customers (Toyota, Nissan, Ford).
As a member of the Molding Department (injection and injection blow molding) I was involved in day to day manufacturing process and had Quality Control responsibility for the finished products.
SIEMENS ENERGY & AUTOMATION
RESIDENTIAL DIV., Norcross, GA August, 2007 – September, 2012
Senior Designer
Participated in Residential AFCI Combo Circuit Breaker Projects. Primary responsibilities included modeling and design of fixtures and test systems for Automated Test Equipment using Pro-E software. There were layouts, assemblies, BOM and parts development. Main projects included:
Developed 3-D models and 2-D wiring drawings for Universal Car Charger – EVSE Project.
Electronic Single Pole Fixture for 1 Pole Electronic Portion of Circuit Breaker.
Automated Mechanical Single and Double Pole Fixtures for AFCI Combo Circuit Breakers.
AFCI Endurance Tester for Single and Double Pole Breakers.
Motorized 10 Position On-Off-Trip Fixture for AFCI Breakers
Designed and developed Riveting Fixture as the universal tools for riveting process assembly of variety of electrical apparatus like Circuit Breakers, PODs and etc. Implement and tested Riveting Fixture in the lab.
SIEMENS ENERGY & AUTOMATION
INDUSTRIAL DIV., Tucker, GA May, 1995 – August, 2007
Senior Designer
As a member of development team was involved in Global Commercial Circuit Breaker Product Line Project. Main projects and duties included:
Created layout design and parts for Rotary Handle Operator Mechanism of 630Amp Circuit Breaker using Pro-E and ACAD.
Design Plug-In and Draw-Out Mechanisms for two Breaker Frames MCCB 160x/160/250Amp and 400/630Amp including RCD modifications partially based upon Siemens competitors, like Cutler-Hummer and Square-D (Merlin-Gerin). Created from scratch two main layouts for 1VL/2Vl/3VL 160X/160/250 Amp Frame and VL4/VL5 400/630Amp Frame. From these sketched layouts, developed sheet metal parts, assemblies and bills of materials. Performed measurement and tolerance control of received vendor parts all the way to first production releases. Was responsible for all engineering changes (ECN) from prototype to production releases. Ensured, that product designs, components, and materials met all applicable standards.
Performed completed tests with graphic implementation of insertion forces for couple “Blade-Jaw” using in Plug-In Devices for 160/250Amp and 400/630 Amp breakers.
Built 3-D models and graphics using ACAD and Pro-E utilized for instruction sheets and marketing material.
