Dear Recruiting Representative,

I am writing in response to the validation engineer position presented on the Saviance Technologies website. I graduate in May 2018 from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.

Attending the University of Houston, I have developed and improved valuable critical thinking skills. During the fall 2017 semester, I researched the process for creating a linear low-density polyethylene plant from 1-hexene and ethylene. With that knowledge, I designed a process flow diagram to produce the thermoplastic. Using Microsoft Visio, the process flow diagram presents the mass flowrates, energy consumption, vapor fractions, pump head, compressor work and stream temperatures. Furthermore, I did not use any computer assisted programs such as Aspen. I only worked with VBA and Microsoft Excel to better my understanding of the core concepts of chemical engineering. While working on the design, I also account for the safety of the employees and the environment as well. I included the toxicity, reactivity, and flammability levels of the chemicals involved within the design written report. As for the environment, I included air and noise pollution considerations within the report. Gaining experience in finances being the treasurer for Tau Beta Pi, I determined the capital expenditure for the project. Using the inside and outside battery limit costs, I determined the net present value of the plant. This spring semester I will continue optimizing the economic costs for the linear low-density polyethylene plant using computer aided programs such as Aspen Plus.

Wanting to continue my knowledge, I am available for relocation. I can best be contacted at ac4kob@r.postjobfree.com or 832-***-****. I look forward to the opportunity in interviewing for the position. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best Regards,

Daniel Vazquez B.S. Chemical Engineering
