Project

Title : Design and fabrication of pedal powered reverse osmosis water purification.

Human powered reverse osmosis is a viable option for producing potable water for developing countries and under developed countries where there is a shortage of electricity or no electricity.

The device uses bicycle to harness human motion to convert it into usable power to run a reverse osmosis filtration system.

Project is successful in designing and testing the practicality of reverse osmosis through numerical analysis.

Pneumatic pump is used to convert pressure energy into mechanical energy.

Future scope is to include the use of solar energy and multi stage filters which gives high quality purified water.
