Professional Experience
Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in U.S. Army Reserves (09/2017 – 03/2018)
oTest drive vehicles and test components and systems, using infrared engine analyzers and computerized diagnostic devices, and replace the faulty part in the vehicles
Mechanical Drafter at Pro-Refrigeration, Inc. (NC, US) (02/2017 – 09/2017)
oDesigned sheet metal enclosures for the refrigeration unit over SOLIDWORKS
oWorked closely with the shop to identify when a part required a change for proper fit prior to being made
oWrote programs for laser cutting using BOBCAD program and metal punching turret
oCreated structural frame designs for the different units being manufactured
oCreated electrical wiring and conduit routing designs for different refrigeration units over SOLIDWORKS
oDesigned and build electrical control panels for machines, thus reducing the time and increasing the efficiency
Skills Used: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, BobCAD, CNC Programming, Product Development
Product Engineer at Tirth Agro Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (INDIA) (07/2014 – 06/2015)
oProduced detailed mechanical engineering documentation and drawings illustrating new product design and improvements to existing products
oModeled and assembled newly designed products, generated Bill of Materials (BOM) while working closely with vendors during the production of prototyped units
oCreated process sheet for line-up vehicles and organized, commissioned and maintained the production line
oMade sure the vehicles satisfied the CMVR (Central Motor Vehicle Rules) and the IS (Indian Standards)
Skills Used: AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Lean Production, CNC Programming, Product Development
Formula Student Racing - FSAE (Orion Racing, INDIA) (07/2011 – 08/2013)
oManaged a team of five to design, analyze and manufacture chassis of the race car along with the suspension system
oImproved the previous design of the fuel tank by simulating the fuel flow under different conditions, thus reducing the weight of fuel tank by 10%
oSimulated static, dynamic and thermal analysis over ANSYS and manufactured the components within set tolerances
oAccurately analyzed the specific capabilities of the race car – with tests including: braking system skid-pad tests, engine power and torque, accelerated endurance, ride and handling evaluations, emissions
Skills Used: AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, CREO, ANSYS, Susprog3D, GD&T, Vehicle Testing
Academic Projects
V6 Twin-turbocharged DOHC Diesel Engine (01/2016 – 05/2016)
oDesigned a 3.0L v6 twin-turbocharged diesel engine from scratch. Determined the engine for vibration, stability, power and torque and other factors. Developed a basic engine layout and documented the design based on customer needs, marketing requirements with sufficient depth (calculation, assumptions, base dimensions) that the concept engine could be assigned to a design team to begin detailed design
Methods to Enhance Heat Transfer – Compact Heat Exchanger (08/2013 – 06/2014)
oDesigned, manufactured and tested a flat tube-fin type of Compact Heat Exchanger (CHE) to use it in the Formula Race Car, thus reducing the space and overall weight of the car and attained 12% higher heat transfer rate as compared to the old heat exchanger
