As a freelance journalist for this company, I write original articles about car news and gap insurance.
The Liverpool Echo
October 2017
I spent a week with the Merseyside newspaper, writing exclusive and creative stories for the news, sports and what’s on sections of the website. This placement further sharpened my ability to create my own articles and demonstrated how adaptable I am.
The Lancashire Telegraph
August – September 2017
In my week at the Telegraph, I honed my skills in finding stories independently and through more traditional means, wrote stories for the website and daily print newspaper and worked with the content management system they used.
Mancunian Matters
August 2017
For this week-long placement, I worked as a reporter for this Manchester-based news site. I utilised many of the skills I had learnt through my degree and during previous placements, such as finding and pitching stories and writing them with SEO in mind.
Mortons Media
May – June 2017
In my two weeks with Mortons, I worked across many different departments, used InDesign, Premiere Pro and Photoshop extensively and worked with CMS. I also published several stories on the Kitchen Garden website and wrote features that appeared in the July and August print editions.
Student Life
April – August 2017
I wrote for my university's Student Life blog about my experiences studying in Lincoln. It was a fantastic opportunity which improved my writing and allowed me to get feedback on articles and ideas I pitched.
The Lincolnshire Echo
March 2017
I was given a week-long placement at the Echo, writing several articles that appeared either on the website or in the print edition. I also sat in on conferences, pitching original ideas that I had found, filmed video content for my stories and learned how to successfully use SEO to reach a wider audience.
The Huffington Post
January 2017 – Present
Published in the Young Voices section, my features are primarily focused on British politics and try to give people a different perspective from what they have already read.
The National Student
