Duties: Of the positions held above, I continuously performed charge nurse functions while ensuring the best in patient care. Additional duties included taking patient vitals and blood draws, maintaining patient records, administration of meds, and minor medical testing. Medical terminology and diagnosis codes were used; the verification of patient charts for historical data to assist with the best plan of care was performed. As an admission nurse, I also consulted with both patients and families to communicate patient diagnosis and to confirm that proper protocol for care was followed while maintaining HIPAA compliances. I assist with the process of admitting a new patient from inputting background history and diagnoses in the computer system, to the head to toe assessment of the patient, to transcribing physician's orders. In management role I also assist with resolving grievous from patients or their families. I have experience with how to operate when a facility is in crisis due to the act of nature.
