Description:

The users of this application are the lawyers in CSFB. CSFB as an entity with its General Partners (GP’s) and Limited Partners (LP’s) makes investments in many Portfolio Companies (PC’s). As per the Federal Law, CSFB along with its GP’s and LP’s must not hold more than a certain percentage of Equity in these PC. If its hold beyond the allowed percentage of equity it is said to have control over the PC which is illegal under the Federal Law. So this application consolidates all the investments made by CSFB through the various funds and deals. The lawyers use this system to get reports and alerts if there is a violation.

Senior Software Engineer 11\2006 – 10\2007

Client: Bank of New York, NY

Description:

Bank of NY and JP Morgan Chase are merging. As a result of the merger data needs to be transferred from JPMC to BNY. There are scanned docs that JPMC has that BNY needs to bring to its DB. The Docloader application handles this. Docloader will scan a particular location pick up all the encrypted Docs, decrypt, Extract the Meta Data, Extract the Corresponding docs from the .txt file, recreate the docs (TIF or PDF etc) and upload the docs to IBM Content Manager.

My Role:

Converted the business opportunity into a Software Solution.

Used UML tools like Enterprise Architect to do the System Design and Architecture

Divided solution into doable smaller modules and came out with a robust and optimally normalized DB Design

Since the application had more than 1 user interface (Web UI, Win UI and Win Service) I designed and developed the Middle Tier with design patterns like Factory design pattern using the abstract class and interface concepts in .NET

Used TTD with Nunit to test the Middle Tier.

Made quick decision and converted long running modules into win services for better scalability

Allocated work prudently to off-shore and onsite team mates based on their strength and weakness and also keeping in mind criticality of the assignment.

Encouraged Test Driven Development by using NUnit for Unit Testing

Managed strict standards of development by using FX COP and periodic Code Review

Implemented excellent error handling using DB and Event Log

Used Microsoft Application block for Data Access block.

Generated documentation using NDOC for better support.

Generated good process documentation for seamless deployment.

Used a Visual Source Safe and TFS for effective version and configuration management and build purposes

IT Consultant 11\2005 to 10\2006

Client: KBR – Halliburton

Projets: eSpector, KBRU

My Role

Designed and developed all Business and Data Access components in C# as loosely coupled objects using Singleton and Factory Pattern. Used strongly typed collection objects instead of Hashtable and other generic collection objects

Adopted latest MS Application Blocks Enterprise Library for Data Access Layer and Error Handling, also wrote a Wrapper around DAAB so that developers in the team can call the Data Access and pass SP parameters with ease

Used a combination of Datasets and Strongly typed objects for marshalling data between layers

Designed the DB in SQL 2005 to be flexible and robust so that eSpector can be used for all KBR construction inspection projects with minor or no changes to new core structure requirements.

Used SQL Reporting Services 2005 for Web and Win based reporting. Did research in dynamically passing parameters in Offline Reporting.

Worked extensively in .rdl and .rdlc file reporting

Divided the whole application into modules and pictorially represented the relation using Enterprise Architecture modeling tool.

Did the main UI using .NET 2.0 Win Forms and made it resemble MS Outlook. Used Split panel control, DataViewGrid, TreeView and image list control for rich user experience.

Did extensive R&D in MS InfoPath and adopted it for the application

Did the GPS functionality

Used XML in UI and DB SP for Bulk insert

Sr.Net Developer 06\2004 to 10\2005

Project: http://www.hp-iscs.com

Client: Hewlett Packard, Compaq

My Role

Played a major part in designing the middle tire as services which would be independent of each other like and consumed by any calling client like SOA.

Contributes immensely being part of the Designing team and suggested using Abstract Class vs Interfaces

Played a pivotal role in drawing the application architecture by adopting the MVC model for ICC (win based application)

Did the object modeling using Enterprise Architecture for User Module and Security module

Developed the User Authentication and Authorization module using the Microsoft Security Application Blocks (User creation and Role Management)

Used design patterns like factory pattern for developing the Base framework

Adopted the Microsoft Application Updater block to make self updaters for auto updating to client systems in the Call Center Application

Did an API for localizing the Web and Call Center Application using the Satellite Assemblies provided by the .NET framework also provided Design time localization support using the Extender Providers provided by the Microsoft .NET framework
