To whom it may concern

Re: Michele Donaggio Rizzi - 2nd Electrical Engineer This letter of reference serves to confirm Mr Donaggio's employment aboard the cruise ship "GTV Serenade of the Seas" in the above mentioned position between February 2010 to September 2012. During the above dates I was the Master of the ship and therefore came into daily contact with Michele during the performance of his duties; since one of his primary job responsibilities was the daily checks and maintenance of the bridge equipment. It should be noted that the Serenade of the Seas is fitted with a very complex, technologically advanced array of electrical equipment, navigational systems and computers. This required continuous troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and upgrades.

I recall that Mr Donaggio was highly skilled at troubleshooting, resolving the numerous technical issues that occurred and at times able to find innovative solutions to rectify these problems. He communicated well with myself and the other bridge navigating officers to this end. His open, respectful and polite attitude was always welcome on the bridge and we were always grateful for his helpful interventions. To the best of my recollection the performance appraisals that crossed my desk as prepared by the Chief Engineer for Michele were always overall above average and indicated a high level of skill, performance and ability as an electrical engineer.

Additionally, it was my pleasure to award Mr Donaggio on three distinct occasions the "Safety First" prize for the suggestion, implementation and effectiveness of safety related workplace initiatives. The "Safety First" program was a quarterly competition for the 850 crew aboard the vessel. These awards also demonstrated his ability to come up with innovative ideas and to "think outside of the box". In summary, it was pleasure to work with Michele and I would without reservation recommend him for employment related to electrical/electronic engineering. There is no doubt in my mind that he will add value to any organization wishing to hire him as well as gaining a loyal and hardworking employee. Respectfully submitted

Captain Michel Claveau

Ex-Master "Serenade of the Seas"
